Four clubs ready to make deadline day pounce on Rangers attacker

Sunderland, Stoke and Middlesbrough have joined Blackburn in a four-team hunt for Rangers’ unfavoured winger Jordan Jones.

Manager Steven Gerrard has denied there are any bids yet for the ex-Killie man, but with deadline day looming, the 25-year old may just consider his options and take the move south to reignite his career.

The former Boro man hasn’t had a great time in Govan, and got himself a few minutes against County, but was unable to make much impact, and it seems, for right or wrong, he’s another who just doesn’t fit the manager’s blueprint of his Rangers team.

The chances are that a move south would be a loan, but we can’t really see the NI international forcing his way back into Gerrard’s thinking, especially considering Rangers’ manager’s admission that Sheyi Ojo ‘will be needed’ in the coming weeks and months.

Jones is clearly bottom of the pecking order.

A bid of £1M would likely secure him such is his disposability now at Ibrox.

We’ll see what happens over the next few days.
