Simply the Best – why Rangers are the one to beat

As one of the founding members of Scottish Football and
Scottish Premier League, Rangers are one of the most respected teams in the UK.
The club is one of the best in England and Europe, filled with rich history and
great honours.
We believe that the Rangers’ history is something that every
football fan needs to know, and so we wanted to shed some light on the club’s
biggest accomplishments.  This season,
the club leads a fierce battle with Celtic for the domestic title. So before we
dive into their records, let’s see what the bookies say about Steven Gerrard’s
boys this season.
2020 Scottish
Premiership Odds
Online bookies give Celtic the upper hand over the Rangers
in Scotland. The odds for Celtic are 2/5, while Rangers’ odds are 2/1. Aberdeen
and Motherwell are also on the list of potential winners, but their odds are
astronomical – 500/1 and 1250/1. Hibernian completes the top 5 list of
favourites with long odds of 2000/1.
If you are
not too fond of outrights, there are many other bets to pick from. Top goal-scorer
is a good pick with
Rangers’ hitman Alfredo Morelos at the top of the list @ 9/4. Celtic
striker Odsonne Edouard is second with 7/2, and Jermaine Defoe is third with
5/1. Sam Cosgrove and Ryan Christie’s odds are 5/1 and 15/2 respectively.
Online
bookies have tons of promotions for these types of bets. Make sure to explore
them all before placing a bet. You can also earn a plethora of free bets and
other types of bonuses that will boost your bankroll nicely. Pick one of these
top free bets in the UK and use them to bet on the Rangers. If Gerrard’s boys win the league,
you’ll be looking at a nice payout.
Now, let’s
check out some of the club’s biggest accomplishments.
The Rangers
have won the League Championship a record 54 times and have lifted the Scottish
League Cup 24 times as well. Due to this, they’re one of the most successful
British clubs in history of football. However, Celtic leads the list in terms
of championships in the modern Scottish Premiership (established in 2013) – the
top Scottish football division has obviously never been won by another club
since its inception.
One of the
biggest Rangers achievements is the fact that the club was the first in the
world to win 50 trophies. In Scotland alone, the Rangers have won seven triples
which is an undisputed record that is extremely tough to break. On European
soil, the Teddy Bears have had mixed results. One of the team’s highest
achievements is winning the UEFA Cup Winners Cup in 1972. In 2008, Rangers were
a runner up in the UEFA Cup against a
mighty Zenit Saint Petersburg team
In
individual terms, the legendary Ally McCoist is the top Rangers goal-scorer
with 355 goals – 251 of those came in the league. McCoist leads the goal-scorer
list in other competitions as well, but he’s neither the youngest or oldest
goal-scorers for the Ibrox outfit. Those honours go to Willie Thornton (16
years) and David Weir (38) respectively.
Rangers’
rich history is filled with numerous awards. One of the world’s richest teams
in terms of trophies, the Rangers have found form again after the disastrous
financial crisis which threatened the club’s existence. Expectations are high
at Ibrox again with Stevie G at the wheel. The Teddy Bears finished runner-up
last year and are closely pushing Celtic this year as well. If luck would have
it, the Rangers will lift the Scottish league trophy once again.
