Two debuts and 10 changes – predicted Rangers XI for East Fife

Rangers travel to Fife today to mark the start of the season’s League Cup campaign.

A host of changes are expected for what should be a fairly routine win, and fringe men are expected to get a big part in this one.

Ibrox Noise brings you our predicted XI to face East Fife:

Foderingham will start in goal. He is likely to be the cup goalie for the earlier rounds in both competitions.

In defence, a complete raft of changes. American Matt Polster will start in captain James Tavernier’s place, while the central duo will see Filip Helander and George Edmundson pair up. Left back will be captain for the day Andy Halliday to give a tough stodgy contest some grit.

Midfield will be slightly less dramatic, bar a debut for new signing Andy King. The other two are likely to be Glen Kamara and Greg Docherty.

And up front we reckon another raft of changes. Brandon Barker will debut on the left, while Jake Hastie will get a rare start on the right. The middle? A much-needed outing for squad man Greg Stewart.

So, your Ibrox Noise XI:

Foderingham; Polster, Helander, Edmundson, Halliday; Kamara, King, Docherty; Hastie, Stewart, Barker.

Not bad for a ‘fringe’ team we have to say.

Should still stomp all over the majority of sides in the SPFL.

  1. Dont think your team selection will be any where near the starting eleven for today cant see Stevie G making so many changes saying that you highlight the depth and quality of players we have now

  2. Barisic at left back with Halliday in midfield instead of Kamara I reckon and I also think Defoe might play instead of Hastie in your line up.
