Steven Gerrard has just made a major announcement Rangers fans will love

In news which will make Rangers fans rejoice, manager Steven Gerrard has now confirmed that his key men are no longer for sale, with no talk about every player having prices any longer.

With just 3 days to go till the summer window shuts, Rangers will not have time to replace the likes of James Tavernier, Alfredo Morelos or any other vital component of the first team, and as such, any bids now received will be rejected, regardless of value.

Tavernier’s exit talk has definitely quietened with the English transfer window shutting, but Morelos’ has remained given the Europe-wide one remains till the 2nd.

But Gerrard has now confirmed, much to Rangers’ fans relief, that any bids received for the likes of these two, or anyone else important to the first-team, will not be entertained.

It marks a dramatic shift following former Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers’ eleventh-hour sale of £20M man Moussa Dembele to French giants Lyon where money talked and he was apparently forced into the deal.

Gerrard has now confirmed, especially, Alfredo Morelos, is no longer for sale in this window, and will remain at Ibrox until January at the earliest.

This is a huge boost for Rangers – the Colombian has been in outstanding form this season, and his value has definitely hiked. His winner last night would have taken him into the £30M territory for sure, but even if that amount is submitted, the lateness of working on a replacement means Rangers will not sell.

And that’s great news for the Ibrox faithful.

  1. Been saying all day, no players leaving is better than another signing.
I'm very glad/releived that this has been confirmed…WATP

  2. Sound business sense at last. Some time soon Morelos will leave and we will be weaker as a result but now is not the time.

  3. Best words I've heard from Gerrard , was 90% morelos was going , think we've got a decent chance of the league now but if he'd gone think it would have tipped it against us . Hes looking an all round better player already this season and more importantly he looks happy to be there , think we could have a 30 million pound player here .

  4. They had their chance. They thought we'd cop for a low-ball offer, but SG put them right. Next time they come sniffing for Alfie, they'll come right. With decent £££.
