Mystery of ‘injured’ Rangers attacker – is he or isn’t he?

Confusion has continued over the status of winger Jamie Murphy, after a number of sources credited him with an injury, following his failure to break into the first team after finally recovering from his season-ender.

The 29-year old attacker, who was at training yesterday, has found the going tough since regaining fitness, and manager Steven Gerrard was scathing over his chances of getting back in the first team even once fully fit and back to his old playing level, but it’s that omission from squads on injury grounds according to a number of different outlets which forces the notion that while he’s joining the players for work at Auchenhowie, he may not be fully fit.

There was similar confusion some weeks ago when Sky Sources claimed he was injured despite other sources being unaware of this, and while he is still running with the squad and taking part in sessions, he has admitted himself his own warm up for development matches/training has become a massive burden and requires a tonne of work first to be ‘activated’ ready for the real business.

We do hope he’s fully fit, and it many observers believe he should go out on loan to enhance his Rangers chances, ourselves being among this.

Hopefully such reports of ill-health are wrong.
