Helander starts – Rangers predicted XI to face St Mirren

Today’s match at St Mirren is massive. There’s no getting away from that. While the Buddies are hardly a typical foe, the significance on the outcome today is big. Following the buoyant win v Hibs, Rangers’ SPL form is solid at the very least, and Steven Gerrard will want that to continue.

But he has a gigantic Europa League leg on Thursday so he will pick a team today with that in mind.

Ibrox Noise brings you our predicted XI:

McGregor should remain in goal. Despite the rotation, the jersey is his bar lesser cup matches.

Back four is interesting. Tavernier will remain at RB as always, and Flanagan should continue at LB, but there is a strong chance Stevie might elect for Barisic to give him one last chance in a match Rangers really should win. Central defence may also see a change, with Goldson continuing but Helander in for Katic.

Midfield is likely to see a start for Glen Kamara, while Joe Aribo gets the nod ahead and Steven Davis continues on with the jersey.

Up front, Jones will start on the left while Arfield gets the right, and Defoe is likely to be the hitman.

So, your Ibrox Noise predicted XI:

(4:3:3)

McGregor, Tavernier, Goldson, Helander, Barisic; Davis, Kamara, Aribo; Arfield, Defoe, Jones.

  1. Amazing how many rotations and still looks a quality 1st team. Wonder if the constant rotating might hurt us later in the season though.

  2. If I recall correctly, last weekend you picked the exact team that SG chose. So, now I am wondering if you will get exactly right again this week 🙂
