"Embarrassment" - Scottish football should be ashamed of itself

After Rangers’ latest European stroll, we have to look at the rest of Scottish football’s utter embarrassments on the continent this season and ask the game north of the border to take a big long hard look at itself.

Put simply, Rangers have won every match this season, bar two draws, one tactical draw in Europe, while Aberdeen, Killie and Celtic have absolutely disgraced themselves and this country with yet more embarrassment at the … not even highest levels, but barely even medium.

Celtic, gubbed by Romanian sheep herders at the same stage as they were last year.

Aberdeen minced 4-0 by some mob we’ve already forgotten.

Killie humiliated by a bunch of diary farmers from Wales.

Scottish football should be absolutely, 100% appalled with how embarrassing the lack of quality in our game has become.

And you know why?

Other than the totally pathetic lifestyle culture of our nation which promotes smoking, gambling and drinking over sport, especially, has led to our clubs degrading in such a spectacular fashion?

Well, other than that – Scottish football, in 2012, cut off its nose to spite its face in order to hurt Rangers. And mince like Killie and Aberdeen have humiliated us in Europe ever since, instead of both Rangers and Celtic getting into the Champions League group stage.

Dare we say it, Celtic have been victims too – an absolute shambles in Europe now, their obsession with trying to kill us 7 years ago led to less competition for them and a complete decline in their quality. They’re richer, but not better.

And losing to Cluj shows they don’t have one.

And neither do Aberdeen or Killie.

It’s left to Rangers, growing, thriving, improving and performing to fly the flag solo for this country.

This isn’t really about pointscoring – because the Scottish co efficient is being destroyed by this nonsense, making it harder for Rangers to get to the group stage.

But what a bloody embarrassment. And we can’t see it changing any time soon.

  3. Well said, i wish we hand joined the English lower leagues in 2012. We would probably be in the championship in England now, no europe but much better league.

    1. I agree, I don't get why we didn't. Probably a lot of background politics. I can't say we would win the EPL by now however we would be happier, thriving and prosperous.

  4. No surprise here. Scottish clubs have long relied on the exploits of Rangers and Celtic in Europe. But you'll never embarrass them. But I agree that clubs would rather have seen us destroyed in 2012 regardless of the impact on their own club.

  5. It's about time this was expressed so succinctly. There is definitely more than meets the eye with what happened to the Famous.

  8. Well said. Spot on. And still the ascottish football hattest will go on. It’s a bitter parochial wee country more interested in division and hatred than promoting the game. Rangers flying the flag but the SMSM is full of bhitter whanks who give not one fuck about the coefficient. On the contrary they hate to see Rangers succeed. 55 will fucking end them this season. WATP

  9. Spot on IN ..Cut off the nose to spite their face is apt. The Coefficient they don't care less about, their hatred for Rangers has come back to haunt them.
Dundee Utd...great to see the relegation and the demise of that f*cker Thompson...Hibs....Fans told their board they would not buy season tickets if Rangers was not demoted, the following season a 2 third empty Easter road, no intention of buying season tickets just wanted to destroy Rangers.Their relegation and sorry attempt in Europe was warmly welcomed the Rangers support.
Aberdeen constant failures in Europe another club that can'take fill their stadium and a burning hatred of Rangers.
Celtic..The mob stating they won'the bup season tickets if Rangers are not demoted and them more thands anyone tried to bury Rangers and pathetically failed.
Lawwell himself stated they would lose £10m in revenue every year if Rangers was demoted, but the Celtic fans did not listen and wanTed the demise of Rangers.
Celtic deserve all they get being beaten in the European games thinking their arrogance would see them through but failed miserably, they would rather win Mickley Mouse titles without Rangers in the league.
But there will be more Karma and to a great enjoyment to the Rangers fans to see Celtic fans rage. There is a storm brewing over Celtic park and it will be barrelling in to the doorstep of Mr Gepeto (Lawwell) and his puppet (Lennon) when Rangers hammer them at Ibrox.
The rebels are already sharpening their knives, and Lawwell and Lennon are the targets, yes it's true the peasants are revolting.
So sit back Rangers fans and watch the show unfold and enjoy yourselves with great satisfaction

As for the system the Journalists etc people like English the beggar rat he dismissed Rangers at every opportunity whilst praising and bumming up the Rotten Mob as fucking invincible... 11. I think the quality of the opposition teams in the Scottish Premiership needs to be improved. Celtic and Rangers win easily by playing mediocre opposition week in week out. It is then difficult for the players to cope with the leap in class when they go into European competitions.

  12. This is already boiling down to one match at Ibrox. Beat them and beat them well then it will be total melt down with our noisy neighbours. If we keep playing the way we are and maybe add another quality player then I might just start believing. Gerrard has got to grips with this league and it's thugs masquerading as footballers. Add the fact that Brenda has just given us what appears to be a decent looking player and it all looks good.

    1. Let's not forget they have won their first 2 league matches 7-0 and 5-2 and are still the team to beat. Our upcoming match at Ibrox will be nothing less than extremely difficult but will not be season defining whatever the result.
