Only 17% of Rangers fans want to keep star player – surprise numbers…

Rangers fans have today decided whether or not James Tavernier is for sale or not and under what circumstances, after it emerged the club has slapped a £10M price tag on his head which is alleged to be the base minimum the board will accept.

In a poll on Ibrox Noise, only 17% of all Rangers fans want to hold onto Tavernier if anything over £9M is bid for his services, while 45% will only sell if the bid is at least £20M+.

The reality is Tavernier is a man in demand, and top-flight PL sides are after his signature – a player like he who has been able to thrive under the demands of Ibrox with one of the best assists and goals records ever seen for a right back in any league or division, never mind just the SPL.

This guy is clearly capable of doing it under major pressure. Whether he can under the demands of the Premier League only time will tell, but if Rangers receive a bid of £10M or more, less than 20% of Rangers fans would still reject that.

Interesting.

  1. Rangers need the money and Tav's value is only going to drop. Tav or Alfredo? It would be our right back I would sell. Having said that, both of them could be for the off.

  2. I for one don't want any of them to leave. However if bids of 20 mill for both come about 40 mill for 2 players that's money we could use to build a squad to take the title back. I'm not saying the current squad ain't good enough because I firmly believe they are. What I am saying is 40 mill could find you a right hood few gems out there that would strengthen our hand further. Hopefully they both stay though as they are my personal 2 favourite players.

  3. If we got the right offer between
    £10-£15million,
We need to be Realistic about Selling Him.

  4. I think that the fans who voted were being sensible .Of the 3 options it basically boiled down to staying or leaving for funny money.I`m sure that the majority would prefer him to stay if the club didn`t need the money i.e we were getting good money from other sources.
