As Warburton moves in on Jason Holt, he may also target another Rangers man…

Mark Warburton is set to add Rangers’ Jason Holt to his summer business at QPR, and frankly may not be finished there with regards Rangers players.

Rangers fans are only too well aware Steven Gerrard is in the middle of a big cull, with at least seven players (Holt included) being informed they have no future at Ibrox and were omitted from the trip to Portugal.

And after already nabbing Lee Wallace and former Rangers man Liam Kelly, Warburton’s imminent signing of Jason Holt may not be the last time the Bread Man makes a move for our surplus talent, with the likes of Ryan Hardie and Joe Dodoo players he may be interested in, not to mention Lafferty and Dorrans.

Obviously Warburton wants players he knows, and who can deliver, and Hardie, like Kelly, delivered well at Livi, and could very much be on the menu for Warbs at Loftus Road as he seeks to build a side capable of pushing for promotion.

Rangers’ own business may now be starting to quieten down for now a touch, with Joe Aribo the big signing to arrive in the next few days, and the only other loose end at present is the prognosis for the Ryan Kent deal, but in terms of outgoing, the more of Rangers’ dead wood that Steven Gerrard can shift, like Holt and arguably Hardie, the better it is for the club’s wage bill and the use of resources.

As for Holt? Good luck wee man – you served us well.
