Rangers decision gives big boost for Hearts

Rangers have a decent boost going into tonight’s clash with Hearts after it was confirmed the club will appeal Ryan Kent’s suspension for allegedly punching Scott Brown leaving the winger free to face Craig Levein’s men.

The 22-year old winger was a stand out against Celtic, regaining some of his best form, and of course one of his finest displays in the shirt was the 3-1 last year in this very fixture – Kent destroyed Hearts that day, particularly in the first half.

His availability does help considerably tonight, even if Hearts’ form isn’t exactly stellar at present, because for Rangers to arrest the current form decline blighting our season at the moment would take the simple act of securing three points to start with.

And an on form and fully available Ryan Kent is important to achieve that.

Hearts currently sit fifth a clear 10 behind Rangers, but anything less than a win tonight for Steven Gerrard’s men will hurt badly and could further damage the hunt for second.

But Kent laying into the Gorgie backline will help a lot.

  1. Silly descision IMO…..Should of just taken the 2 gane ban & got it out the way, then he will defo be availible for the visit of the filth Post split….by appealing the inevitable ban will roll over into the post split fixtures & you just know he will end upissing the last game against that lot…..Grezda or Middleton should fill in for next 2 games

  2. I would've appealed all red cards from Sunday just to highlight the part that Brown played in all of them. Why do we let them get away with it?

  3. While it is no more than a yellow, this is the SFA we are dealing with. So they may well increase it. After all, Brown kicking Morelos is not deserving of punishment, but Morelos kicking McKenna is. Go figure. It is either because Morelos is black or because he is Rangers. Either way, it is biogtry and wrong
