Two big changes for Aberdeen – predicted XI for tomorrow

You’d be forgiven for forgetting there’s the small matter of a Scottish Cup quarter tomorrow to get our teeth into at Pittodrie with all the distracting guff over at Parkhead – it’s the most important match of Rangers’ season…since…well… the last one, and a victory up north, like last time around, would see Rangers in the semi finals and with a real chance of silverware.

Scott Arfield and Andy Halliday are the main two doubts, but otherwise it’s likely to be the same XI that has managed 14 goals in the past three matches and 0 goals conceded in the past five. It’s safe to say defence has been excellent, if relatively untested, and attack has been on fire recently.

Stevie will select the best team he has, so we can’t see any change in defence, bar the inclusion of Halliday at Barisic’s expense should the former be fit, while midfield may see the loss of Arfield replaced by Steven Davis.

Otherwise it would be the usual recent team of:

McGregor; Tavernier, Goldson, Worrall, Halliday; Kamara, Jack; Kent, Davis, Candeias; Morelos

Right now Steven Gerrard’s Rangers are the best form at the highest level of any Rangers team since 2012 and the coach, having rotated more than a clock handle, might finally at long last be settling on his preferred first-choice team.

And the results and performances justify it. Supporters, not just ourselves, had complained at the excessive switching about, the unnecessary changes, and now it appears Stevie agrees and has decided on his favourite XI.

And as long as it continues to do the business on the pitch as it currently is, there can be no valid complaints from anyone.

Here’s to a semi final to hopefully look forward to by around 15:00 tomorrow.

  1. I was talking with a work mate yesterday and a wee bit of banter about the game today. He started to lose the place a wee bit and started the nonsense again about our club having to borrow money from the Close Brothers a think I may have touched a raw nerve with him for this to be his reply. A hope he was wrong on this matter as told him the account released the other day showed we are in great shape but have we borrowed from Close Brothers again can anyone shed some light on this matter.

    • No we haven't. We are in our strongest position for years and that is due to King, whether you like him or not! Anyone suggesting otherwise is simply salty and feeling the heat that Rangers are on the way back. Hope that helps mate..watp
