Meltdown; outrage as Scotland’s Shame shame Scotland further

We admit it, some Rangers fans haven’t behaved in a manner becoming of the club recently, and we’ve not really covered it because frankly Dave King did a good enough job of doing so himself.

However, regardless of the naughty songs or the foolish chants, there is a nastiness, a chilling depth our fans haven’t seemingly plunged down that their Celtic counterparts have outright embraced and the latest chants emerging on social media as well as that coin incident at Rugby Park show there seems to be an even lower moral compass at Parkhead these days.

Sure, the world is a nasty place now, we know that, but we’d like to say most Rangers fans haven’t gone anything like down that route, while their Eastern chums seem to have taken it with gay abandon.

We’re wary of even repeating what those chants said, so horrible are they about Brendan Rodgers and the fate they’d like to see bestowed upon him that we find it sickening the depths certain individuals will plummet to when they decide they ‘hate’ someone.

Personally, we hope he ‘wakes up’, because frankly he’s done nothing to deserve another fate and in light of the unspeakable meltdown at Parkhead we can almost consider him a good guy now in the eyes of Rangers. Enemy of your enemy and all that…

And let’s not forget that coin. No, on top of all this, as well as the sectarian chants at Tynecastle (yes, we didn’t mention them either) the green and whites decided the most sane way to protest the sight of Kris Boyd was to hurtle a missile at him. While chanting sectarian bile his way too.

No, our Celtic friends have not covered themselves in glory the past couple of weeks, managing to be Scotland’s Absolute Shame.

Again.

  1. Look mate we there is a saying and it's this. We are no clean tottie ourselves so we really should not be going down that route. A wee reminder the livi game one of our own hit the linesman with something and burst his head open blood gushing from the wound. Let's not go there we are becoming more like the beggers everyday trying to pick faults with them. For this being a bears forum we do some amount of talking about the tramps from the East End some people would think we might even be obsessed with them. Let's keep it to us and the famous Glasgow Rangers.

  2. There is no moral high ground here guys. Some of our chants and songs are nauseating. I wish every Rangers song related to either our team or our players and every song encouraged the side rather than celebrating events of over 300 years ago.

    • Spot on Harry. Come on IN rise above this and encourage ALL Rangers fans to be fans of RFC and nothing else. There are some of these fans on this site so you can make a start there.

  3. There is No Need for that kinda Nonsense from Either Side.

    It's Outdated, It's Pathetic and it's Disgusting

    👎🏻

  4. The sad thing is that much of the sectarian bile is born out of ignorance. We must try and be above it.

    • Absolutely agree. I was watching a history programme the other day about Prince William 3rd being invited to take over the throne of England by some parliamentarians who were disgusted with the ruthless reign of James 2nd and wondered how many who sing these songs know anything about this stuff. Very few I suspect. And on the other side how many who fly the Irish tricolour know the colours are actually green, white and orange, not gold!

  5. It begins with the supporters clubs signing a declaration at best they will try to stop members singing songs nothing can stop both sets of fans heritage away from the ground inside and around the ground its a different matter l do not want my niece asking me what does it mean to be up in our knees in she would understand nakamuras eat my Dog

  6. The chant which really sickens me is the one concerning Bobby Sands (he's deid). It baffles me why this goes on but I wish it would stop. As in the two comments above it's nauseating and we only lower ourselves to the same level as the Septic fans.

    • Agree. Lets follow follow because the bluebells are blue and not because Bobby Sands is deid!!! Why do WE keep his memory alive?

  7. Took 8 year old son to Dundee match midweek. Club-deck. He loves going to matches however both of us, along with a number of fellow fans had to endure almost the whole of the second half having to tolerate 4 idiots openly drinking Buckfast, openly smoking and singing exclusively sectarian songs. No police anywhere and stewards clearly not wanting to get involved. They say we should police it our-self but who in their right mind is going to challenge 4 drunken Neds. This unfortunately is par for the course at Ibrox. Really considering finding an alternative means of entertaining the boy. Shocking

    • I know what you mean. I don't take my kids to the matches anymore. Still go myself of course lol

    • I had a similar experience many years ago at the Richard Gough testimonial where I took 4 young kids all sporting various Rangers strips of the Gough era. Neds cursing and swearing with racist and bigoted chants and challenging fellow supporters to fight because the wouldn't join in. Eventually some stewards marched up the stairs and I thought something was being done at last. But no, a guy in front of me, visiting from London, was warned not to take photographs of the match. Then they marched back downstairs to watch the idiots alongside 2 policemen doing nothing.

  8. It's the same on both sides and trying to say they are worse than us is not being Honest IN.
For every song they might shout out , the sick song about Jimmy Bbellone we have elements of our support singing sick songs about jay beatty.
They might sing an IRA song , we will sing the Billy boys.
Until there is strick liability nothing will change

  9. Ibrox Noise, the sectarian singing was from the hearts fans directed at Neil Lennon. It wasn't the manky mob.
Just thought I would correct you, my next door neighbour is a season ticket holder for hearts.

  10. There is no excuse for the behaviour of some of our fans and that lot. However it cannot be switched off like a light it needs to dealt with by us at every opportunity .As far as the Rotten Mob it's clear they have no stomach to take on the Green Brigade so not sure how they can change if the even want to
