Two changes – predicted Rangers XI to face Dundee

Rangers face Dundee tonight in the first match of the ‘new Premiership era’ knowing the new regime at Parkhead faces Hearts at the same time – 3 points are a critical must for Steven Gerrard and any slip up in Edinburgh must be pounced on.

We know some of the starters for tonight’s visit of Jim McIntyre’s men, but there are a few 50/50s and Ibrox Noise now takes you through our two predicted XIs to walk out the tunnel tonight:

McGregor; Tavernier, Worrall, Goldson, Barisic; Kamara, Jack; Kent, Arfield, Candeias; Morelos.

Mostly team as v Hamilton but we suspect Halliday will miss out through that modest injury he currently has, and furthermore Stevie seems to like cycling between Halliday and Barisic when it comes to home and away and surface-dependent, and of course Morelos is back.

There is a chance Gerrard may decide to rest some players in light of Sunday’s huge Aberdeen semi, in which case we would suggest:

McGregor; Tavernier, Worrall, Katic, Barisic; McCrorie, Kamara; Davis, Kent, Candeias, Morelos

A strong 4-2-3-1 which would definitely have too much for Dundee anyway, and gives a few players a rest for Sunday.

But otherwise we reckon the same XI which has been delivering of late will be given the chance to do so again.

  1. IN, it will come as no surprise to you that I would like to see Davis play. If we are going to get anything from him then we must give him game time. I would rest Arfield and play Davis in advanced midfield.

  2. I agree with Steve Davis starting Arfield can come on if he fails to click ..there were some signs on Sunday for sure in his game . I would play Katic from the start we need to find a better way of attacking corners our stats are piss poor on that front . As for Alfredo I'd give him another hat trick then rest him lol WATP

  3. Can't afford to rest anyone for games coming up. Every game has to be 3 points. Rest players when we are 2 or 3 goals up like we did on Sunday. Celtic have some tricky fixtures coming up so have to capitalise if they drop points. Would be a pisser if they did drop points and we squandered the chance by dropping points to teams like Dundee
