Rangers team news and full injury roundup for Dundee

Steven Gerrard today gave Rangers fans a full briefing on some starters and injury updates, including a surprise or two here and there, following his pre-Dundee presser.

Rangers’ boss had some good and bad news for fans and here at Ibrox Noise we’ll take you through the best and worst of it.

New signing Matt Polster is going to have to wait some way longer before making his debut for his new team. The USA international midfielder and right back not to mention centre back has suffered a groin strain in training and will not be making the 18 to face Jim McIntyre’s men, so it does seem like it’ll be next month before we see our latest acquisition in the Light Blue.

Meanwhile he’s been joined by ever-reliable Andy Halliday who is also currently suffering the same predicament as his American teammate. The utility man may still make it tomorrow, but Gerrard is far more reluctant to put him into the firing line while not fully fit when he has a Croat international just aching to prove himself.

As previously mentioned Glen Kamara will start – Gerrard has confirmed the January addition will start this one against his old team, so it’s likely Ross McCrorie misses out again, unless Stevie goes for that famous rotation of his.

Eros Grezda’s status is a little unclear – Gerrard did not include him as an injury omission but neither did he explicitly mention him as being available – but the Albanian is back in training and hopefully gaining much-needed fitness.

And otherwise, beyond the usual Graham Dorrans and Jamie Murphy long-term absentees, it appears the squad is otherwise completely fit and available.
