Rangers’ sensational U17s today face Italian giants Roma in the final of the Alkass International Cup, a tournament boasting the likes of PSG, Real Madrid, Spartak Moscow and Bayern Munich.
The young Bears were the only UK representatives in this prestigious event, and got through their group at the top of the pile, before navigating the KO rounds to face one of the biggest sides in Serie A.
It’s a tournament which has seen the emergence of January signing Nathan Young-Coombes, a 16-year old capture from English giants Chelsea, and who has impressed observers to the point the blow of losing young Billy Gilmour to the same side has become a distant memory.
The final will be broadcast live online at 14:45 UK GMT via official club website Rangers.co.uk and the club’s Facebook page too.
We wish our youngsters the best of luck and we have to say a trophy this early in 2019 would be thoroughly welcome.
