Outrage – have Rangers just made a massive, massive mistake?

As Rangers fans know, Rangers host Kilmarnock (we’ve talked about them a lot recently) again a week on Wednesday in a replay following the draw between the sides on Saturday.

However, fans have reacted in fairly understandable fury after the club officially confirmed the prices for the match in Govan would be an astonishing £27.

Under normal circumstances a near-£30 price point is about right for a standard Rangers home match in the league for an adult, but after fans boycotted Tannadice in 2012/2013 (remember all that) for Dundee Utd refusing to refund fans after an abandoned match in 2009, charging standard price to fans now for a replay smacks of complacency from the powers that be and a huge disregard for the price many thousands shelled out to travel to Ayrshire for the ‘first leg’.

Many suggestions have poured in from fans stating the price point in this should have been £15 or even £10, given we’ve already done it all before, but sadly the club have asked for around double or even triple that instead.

Disappointingly, with it being a midweek evening clash at Ibrox (likely) live on TV the attendance will already be potentially suffering – adding a difficult price point is not going to dissuade many fans from sitting this one out.

We have accused the club of being out of touch with the fans on more than one occasions, and incidents like this only prove it.

Some will be happy enough to pay £27 to support their team, but the majority do seem a little shortchanged by developments.

How do you feel about it?

    • We're hearing contrasting accounts regards this since this article went up. No definitive information yet. Either way Rangers are being fleeced.

  1. Bizarrely i can't even get my usual seat due to the away ticket allocation. Can't see Killie bringing many either

  2. Because it is a cup tie and Killie get a percentage of the gate money , we can`t drop the prices without their agreement .I read that the tickets are selling well anyway .
