Life after Rodgers – 55 or not? Rangers fans vote to reveal the majority view…

Unless you live under a rock, you’ll be well aware Celtic lost Brendan Rodgers to Leicester yesterday, with Neil Lennon returning to Parkhead as interim manager.

However, the bigger picture is the effect this dramatic change may have on the title race, which is exactly what the final 11 matches could present us thanks to the developments in the east end.

It was expected to be a predictable Celtic title again, but Rodgers’ departure has thrown a colossal spanner in the works and all bets are now off.

Hence, Ibrox Noise ran a poll to see what percentage of our support believes this change could be a big factor in a sensational turnaround in Rangers winning the league, and in some very interesting numbers, 57% thought Steven Gerrard’s men could now win the league, compared with 43% who felt the switch in boss at Celtic Park won’t affect anything.

It’s not an overwhelming majority by any means but it’s a strong enough number to suggest there’s real belief now in a sensational end to this season.

We will see how it pans out.

  1. Why Lennon left Hibs has never been revealed. But forgive my cynicism. All this will have been planned in advance with Rodgers/ Lennon/Celtic and Leicester. Hibs have been shafted as have Celtic fans. Celtic’s owners save money , they will believe League is in bag , fans will put up with Lennon in meantime. But bigger picture is that Lennon has ver poor track record. Next season could see Celtic in all sorts of trouble. And for Scottish football it it is a sham. We need a stronger league. I actually wish Hibs and Hearts(especially tonight) well. Aberdeen have Blown their greatest chance ever with Hearts, Hibs and of course the Gers in trouble. Icing on cake if we win league this year. We have returned to profit. But we must now grow into a world brand. Celtic failed in Europe. We must not. And SG is man to do it despite IN,s sniping.

  2. There's probably a better chance now, who knows what the Lennon factor will bring. BUT I'd be feeling a lot more positive if we hadn't dropped those 2 points to St Johnstone. Great for SG to have won that last OF game & send BR packing!

  3. I think we should be realistic. I don’t think we can win the league this year. Celtic would have to lose at least three games and Rangers win all their games including two against Celtic. I can’t see it happening. One man cost us a lot of points with all his suspensions

  4. Hope for the best, but don't be getting carried away. It's ok beating a run of small teams, but until we're regularly beating the top six, we have to be wary. How many times have we relied on them and they've just gone to sleep. Oh…plastic pitch, we can't play properly…excuses. I don't trust these pampered pretty boys. As much as I want 55. One step forward, two steps back, we've seen too much of, this season.
