Steven Gerrard has just made a big January call…

Steven Gerrard has possibly prepared for life without Alfredo Morelos by recalling Ryan Hardie from his loan spell at Livi.

The 21-year old striker impressed hugely at Livi in both the Championship and Premiership, racking up 8 in 16 in Scotland’s second tier before adding a stunning 5 in 7 on his return from injury following promotion, and this form has led Steven Gerrard to invoke the terms of Hardie’s loan despite Livi boss Gary Holt borderline pleading for the player to remain at Almondvale.

Hardie flew to Tenerife today with the rest of the squad, albeit it must be similarly remembered he flew to Malaga with Rangers in the summer as well after his previous loan at aforementioned Tony Macaroni ended, so despite his being on the plane, we’re not necessarily sure that means he’s definitely back permanently.

Of course, the difference this time is his loan has been seemingly cut short by his parent club rather than it naturally expiring, so it does seem Gerrard wants the former St Mirren loanee back permanently.

And with Morelos absent from Tenerife today, Rangers have Jermain Defoe, Hardie and Kyle Lafferty to choose from should the Colombian be set to move on.

Defoe will join up at the camp in due course.

  1. Gerrard just confirmed that Alfredo will join up with the squad tomorrow and he was given extra time off as a reward for his efforts the first half of the season. Morelos is going nowhere.

  2. A think we need to accept it guys Alfie is a gonner. We ain't bringing Defoe and calling hardie back for nothing. A think it will be a team in the bottom 6 he will go to though. A do t see anything higher than that. I would accept 5 million for him a think anything else would be a bonus and we would be pushing it. But hey ho only my opinion. Some nugget put it out there the other day in the evening times that Miller was coming back for cover as Alfie was away to Sunderland for 4 million quid.

  3. I rate big laff, but under the circumstanes i would offer preston a swap for moult as he could play off either morelos or defoe? The big man needs games, win/win.That said his goals proved crucial in previous title deciders.

  4. Unless someone offers at least £8.5m for Him …He ain't going anywhere

I think we should go and sign Shankland, I also like the look of the boy Maja from Sunderland 🤔🙌🏻
