Four out, one in – Tuesday transfer chaos at Ibrox?

Rangers’ transfer window got slightly crazy today ahead of Thursday’s deadline with one deal completed and three imminent while one further became speculated.

Ibrox Noise takes you through the wheeling and dealing on this tumultuous Tuesday.

Carlos Pena
is set to be freed. No one at Ibrox has the slightest interest in him and his deal will be terminated via mutual consent, losing Rangers around £3M. It’s curious that Steven Gerrard had zero desire to bring him back and at least give him a shot, but Pena has more to deal with right now than football. He’ll get a nice little pay off and Rangers will be shot of the biggest failure of the Caixinha era.

Meanwhile Jordan Rossiter is close to his loan move out – Sunderland, Motherwell and Dundee Utd have been mentioned but it’s not clear which one, if any of them, he’s going to. But he will be going.

Speaking of a third midfielder, Jamie Barjonas is back out on loan, this time at Raith. He returned from his loan at Bury only a few weeks ago, but he’s too green to be considered first-team material yet and it’s better for him to play at a decent level where he can grow more.

And then there’s the ongoing soap opera of Alfredo Morelos; after Nice were speculated to be putting an £8M bid in for him, Turkish giants Galatasaray are said also to be to be considering a bid. The cash-rich Mediterranean side would have no issue with the transfer fee, but Rangers will not want to sell at any price.

Last but not least Chicago Fire’s Matt Polster is set to seal his permanent switch to Rangers. The utility midfielder/defender is to put pen to paper on being an immediate transfer, with Rangers adding yet another international to their ranks and giving cover at right back and midfield.

Expect more madness over the next 24 hours!

  1. Still no players sold for actual money. Unless Davis and Defoe can step up this window will go down as disappointing but January is never the best time to sign anyone. A number 10 would've been great though.

  2. Stevie G said no bids had been put in for any of his players, so this talk of Nice is just that paper talk. The American boy was supposed to be coming in as the club were trying to get a good fee for Tav, but again no bids have came in for him.
I don't think the transfer business has been good this month, 2 players in who are here to top up their pensions has been our wack.
At least we haven't lost anyone.
If the club sells morelMo we are fu*ked. Defoe will score goals but will do nothing else bit like windass.

    • What 2 players are here to top up their pensions?
I hope your not talking about Davis and Defoe after all they are here on loan and Davis who will take a pay cut to stay after the summer, some pension top up there🤔😂

    • Let's get real here they are here for a top up. So don't deny it. It's cash big heavy duty cash we could spent elsewhere on actually signing a couple of players we could sell on at great value to our club. WATP NO SURRENDER.
