Steven Gerrard lines up double EPL swoop for January

Following links with Wolves’ out of favour right back and CB Dominic Iarfa, Rangers have today been linked with another swoop for an EPL talent, this time in the form of Everton’s Kieran Dowell, an attacking midfielder.

Following Ovie Ejaria’s failure to develop as an AM, and Graham Dorrans’ latest injury blight, Rangers really have no creativity at the apex of midfield and Dowell, a 21-year old playmaker, could well be what Steven Gerrard seeks.

Reports are it would be a loan, which we believe would be the same for Iorfa, and it would give Gerrard badly needed quality in an area desperately deprived of it presently.

Dowell is a regular for England at youth level, and opinion is he’s on the cusp of a graduation to the U23s if his form continues, having impressed for Nottingham Forest on loan last season.

We’ll see if Rangers secure these two come January.

  1. No more loans! Use our own squad and young players. Sign Steven Davis and we win 55! This signing has to be done asap.

  3. Would Take Iorfa for RB as Competition for Tav and Bin Flanagan

Would Rather have Ferguson from the Sheep Instead of Dowell 👌

  4. We need to get players signed, not more
loans, we will zone be called The Loan Rangers. If we are ever to build a team
    We need permanent signings, continuity
    is key.

    1. Not sure a sixth defensive midfielder is what we need Joe!

  6. Don't like all these loans either, but clearly it's the only way we can secure players of this standard until we can generate more income. I'm sure Gerrard would rather own the player rather than develop them for their parent club, "but needs must".

  7. How does it work out with loan players
How many can we have at the one time as it is becoming embarrassing. We could end up being laughed at and known ad the The Loan Rangers. But I agree with the other comments no more loaned players otherwise we will end up doing more tapping than a blind man's stick.
