Old Firm shock – up to 10 Rangers players out?

Rangers have been hit by a colossal injury list in advance of Saturday’s key Old Firm crunch, with an astonishing number of absentees piling up at quite frankly the worst time possible.

Connor Goldson, already a doubt for St Johnstone, made that one and Hibs, but is now truly crumpled on the floor following another bruising match in which he was hauled off at half time and unwisely sent back out to continue after the interval.

Scott Arfield is almost certainly still out following the niggles assistant manager Gary McAllister hinted it, while Gareth McAuley doesn’t appear to be ready either.

Meanwhile, Ryan Jack was a big miss v St Johnstone but managed to make his way back out for Hibs – hopefully he got through today unscathed and won’t be an issue.

Ryan Kent remains a huge risk – getting closer to fitness, but still a massive doubt at best following a niggling calf issue, albeit the other leg to the one which laid him out a month or two ago.

Alfredo Morelos was today in the wars as well, after taking a sore one, but hopefully this was no more than a bump.

And last but not least Glenn Middleton took a bad one late on and had be withdrawn for Kyle Lafferty.

And of course Jamie Murphy and Graham Dorrans remain long-term losses.

So going into Saturday Steven Gerrard and Rangers could potentially be missing up to nine or ten players through injury.

Which, frankly, is completely ridiculous.

    • Ye SHOULD have said Grezda, oh my GOODNESS, HOW BAD is This fella at all ??????????

Grezda is Beyond Bad ! (sad but true)

    • change training complex into a hospital ,also did anyone notice against hibs ,rangers players were all falling like flies mr gerrard wants to have a wee talk to players individually ,looks like a few are trying to dodge next game.

  1. Celtic are gonna put us back under our rocks they're saying. No better than Magic hat they're laughing. Running scared they think we are Bears gonna be in hibernation until Murty is appointed.

  2. And folk wonder why results havent been as good lately when Gerrard's only been able to rely on Tav and Shagger being 100% fit from his starting 11 in recent times. The winter break can't come fast enough. The squad is burning out from so many games. Hopefully some signings and a rest will see us return to some true form again.

  3. Once Morelos and McGregorare available , nothing change, been a two man team all season.
Injuries are part of the deal and Celtic have been down to the bare bones recently too.
Tierney looks doubtful, Griffiths defo out, Benkovic a doubt, Arzani out for the season, Lustig, Edouard, boyata all just getting back to match fitness etc..

    • So how many regular starters does that mean they will be missing? 1 or 2? Hardly comparable and they have a much larger squad to start with?

  4. I fear for Saturday there's no way we will beat the beggars, we can't even win against pish sides, the dhims are winning all be it ugly which we can't, it's time for Gerrard to go, l have zero confidence in him now

  5. Why don't we just put the whole team, out to seed and wave the white flag, now? Lumbered with 'crocks' who do nothing BUT, cost us much-needed £££. Goldson, again?? Brighton saw us coming, with him. We need this, like a hole in the head. I would not be surprised if we get hammered 5-0. I know i'll get stick for saying it, but that's just how I feel. How many injuries have Celtic sustained this season so far, compared to us? I'd love to see that stat, IN.

    • Whatever team we cobble together will go and compete. It's the fans who are waving the white flag. Shame on you all.

  6. And that's why we need players
We are still lacking in squad depth in the right positions

A Backup RB for Tav …Sell Flanagan
    A Backup LB for BB
    …Wallace won't get another Shot 😟

    A No.10/Lockpick
2x Strikers to Assist Morelos cause Lafferty ain't Cutting It.
