Massive Rangers boost; £7M pair to return for Stevie?

After Steven Gerrard’s strong criticisms of the players against Aberdeen, there may be a few changes on Sunday with a number of previously-unavailable players returning to significantly freshen things up.

Foremost are the returning Ryan Kent and Borna Barisic, who are ready to start if Gerrard elects to deploy them, and frankly Rangers could use their invention.

The entire left side for Rangers has been a real problem the past few matches, with Glenn Middleton struggling and consequently losing his brief foray in the side, while left back has been a categorical eyesore with both Jon Flanagan and Andy Halliday failing to convince there.

So the return of Barisic, a Croatia international let’s not forget, and Kent, an absolute livewire when in form, comes at a crucial time with Rangers’ difficult December well and truly underway.

We may also see some freshening up in midfield, with the struggling Lassana Coulibaly surely finally taken out and Scott Arfield to return. We also hope for a role for the impressive Ross McCrorie and/or Jordan Rossiter. As for Ovie Ejaria, he’s becoming rather divisive and Arfield may well shift forward into his slot if sense was to prevail. All of these scenarios bear in mind the near-certainty of Ryan Jack keeping his place but Gerrard has shocked us before and he’ll do so again.

It is, however, the return of the reportedly £5M rated Kent and £2M signing Barisic Rangers chronically need – defending and attacking on the left has been borderline abysmal in the past month or so, so such quality returning over there is welcome.

We’d be genuinely puzzled if these two are not in the XI.

  1. Off the topic here guys but that clown Keith Jackass of the daily rebel has written an article on blue pitch holdings today. In it he speaks of people who took over the club a number of years ago telling us all they were all chancers taking from our club. This guy even had a go at Craig Whyte the same guy Jackass told our fans that Whyte was a billionaire and wealth of the radar. He should be embarrassed trying to write this shite a think he is trying to get back into clubs good books with this article. Keep this jakey well away from ibrox.

    • I also see in the daily record that the club has opened a retail shop in st.enoch square.
Now is it just me or did fat Mike Ashley not just win a court case saying we can't do this.
Looks like another court case that we will lose.
King is wasting our fucking season ticket money on stupid court cases he can't win.
The money that has been wasted already this season could of got us an extra player in January's transfer market.

    • King is fighting for our rights against this fat wank and refusing to bow down to him.He owes us money from last season and is withholding it. If you are a true Rangers man (suspect)then you'd be glad we have a presence in the city centre once again. King knows what he is doing and the Club have not endorsed this store,we are boxing clever so wind your neck in.

    • With a reply like yours Geo B no wonder people say we are stuck with our heads in the sand. So you don't have a problem with all these court cases and the money it's eating into our funds I give up with you.

  2. I think ejaria needs those around him to support him and they've struggled to find space against teams like Aberdeen. Ejaria is difficult to play against and he does well at keeping posession and breaking up opposition play. He plays well when others get involved. Ive noticed him looking to make passes and when he looks up hes out of options… All IMO of course. Im not sold on arfield tbh. Get Davis bk if we can imo

    • Quite obvious we missed Arfield against Aberdeen,he gets into the opposition box and he gets goals, who else in our midfield gets goals?

    • i think you are blind if you think Ejaria is good and Arfield isn't Ejaria has been rotten for a while and Arfield has been one of our best players

  3. I'd like to see Middleton keep his place with Barasic behind him to see how he does. He's been fairly isolated the last few games with both flanagan and haliday barely crossing the halfway line

  4. Gav E. Thank God someone agrees. Middleton being dropped for a loanee, no matter how good is wrong. TOGETHER With Barrisic they could destroy teams on that side. Today get Dallas in and used as Kilmarnock utilise Greg Stewart.
