Disgrace at Dens – Rotten Rangers got exactly what they deserved…

On the face of it the starting XI, Goldson and Halliday aside wasn’t actually that bad. But by 20 minutes into this shambles it was evident a systematic failure from both management and players was on the cards, and for the second match in a row, a Rangers team and management have disgraced the club with appalling lack of effort and diabolical decisions, not to mention performances.

We’re going to keep this brief – if the past two matches are an indication of what lies ahead, Steven Gerrard’s Rangers is badly derailing and it’s at the worst time possible.

We’ll have more analysis in due course, but let us know your thoughts in the usual place.

  1. PISH POOR FFS
JUST THE LACK OF DESIRE TO WIN WAS EVIDENT TODAY
THATS MORE POINTS LOST DUE TO THE RED CARDS
    EMBARRASSING TO WATCH
WE WILL NOT ACCEPT THIS CRAP
    GET ON OR GET OUT

  2. We have lost our belief, our confidence and momentum. A bottom of the league Dundee with 10 men for 70 minutes and we looked like a team of strangers devoid of a plan or ideas. Kenny Miller had more drive than all ten outfield players playing against him. Looks like all the hyped pre-season training has drained their legs. Apart from McGregor not a single Rangers player stepped up for the fight today. Not one.

  3. Embarrassing, shambolic. Over in fuerteventura on holiday watching in pub. Bloody he'll didn't know wheather to laugh or cry. Defence has completely went to pot, midfield non exsistant, forward line ?. Didn't seem to be any game plan other than bloody faff about. Was so upbeat recently, now ? A massive reality check. Still miles better than last year but we still have a hell of a long way to go before we get anywhere near that bloody lot
    WATP

  4. until we have winners on the park we are going to continue to be also rans there are way to many invisible people on the park and off it. Worrel is a train wreck and should never play for Rangers again we have no invention and when teams put players behind the ball we have no one who can make a pass or beat someone to break the lines appaling

  5. What do you say here…this was worse than Wednesday .No Class Invention or Quality Too many passengers …Worrall upsets the back four.. Rossiter finished sorry son ! Lafferty getting poor or no service .. These lads need to fully understand who they are playing for I know we need Morelos and Arfield but surely those given a chance should give more !!!

  6. Rangers were poor at dens, and that's putting it mildly.
Rangers will never win the league again as celtic have better players and have money, gers are £20m in debt.

  7. Can't blame the red cards for that atrocity today. The replacements need to be able to step up and get a result against the bottom of league. If they can't, they should be nowhere near the squad. If indeed it was Morelos and Arfield's fault today, we better hope neither of them get a knock or a yellow card for the rest of the season. If we can't even manage a decent attempt on goal against 10-man bottom of the league without them, we're in serious trouble.

  8. Clueless clueless clueless… The league is over b4 Xmas again and anyone who thinks different are not only deluded but clueless (Gerard)…
Played against 10 men for most of the match and what did we do…fuck all, actually
they looked like scoring more than us with 10 men and let's be honest fellow bears its not good enough or acceptable and therefore I believe its now time for us to get Ashley in to take us forward as i truly believe king won't/can't take us forward anytime soon….watp

    • Are you having a laugh I made these statements before and was shot down in flames for it even accused of being a timmy so be it on your own head.

    • If you think Ashley will take us forward, you are delusional yourself. He had the chance to invest in Rangers, support Rangers and help us move forward. He decided he would rather steal 97% of the jersey profits.
When you say King can't or won't take us forward, please explain what you mean by forward. Winning league next season? How much money will it take to win the league next season and where will it come from?
Like most fans, I am happy to listen to suggestions, Scud earned his reputation because he never came up with a single suggestion, just moans

  9. PissPoor wtf is happening to our team, players clearly not listening to the manager as that's 2 games in a row they have failed to carry out his gameplan………… first time can be classed as a mistake but second time means it was on purpose..

  10. People on here saying that it was only the Dundee match he was suspended for at the time and that if there was a suspension for this is it so again we took Dundee for mugs. Mugs that are fighting for their lives we let our guard down there. Massive set back here now it's back to playing catch up with East End tramps. They blew killie top of the table the form side of the league and the best team in Scotland for a couple of days away and that frightens me after their display yesterday.

  11. I agree with the above, and in addition just lack luster, no drive, headless chickens comes to mind, Mcgregor was trying to get them to play wide, whats the captain doing,Goldson was sleeping against ex ranger miller, with the red cards looming in this game why not take off Jack, their going to struggle on Thursday they need to get their finger out and be proud to put on a rangers jersey and play as a team,Steve Gerrard has to start dropping if their not going to perform,

  12. its just came to me what weve been watching for years its a comedy show what a laughing stock this great team has become ,im sorry but mr gerrard has not got a clue ,central defenders constantlly bumping into each other ,five wingers on the park at same time a squad of 100 with 2 strikers ,,its all over for another season , allready how can any manager sign 13 duds in one season is beyond me, allready hate sight grezda, flannigan ,and the rest of gerrards signings just know they aint gonna cut it ,r,t,i,d

  13. Really poor. Its actually becoming excruciating watching us. Never looked like scoring. Gerrard is just like the Loaf in that there is no plan B.

  14. Absolute nonsense, ye can't keep blaming players for not carrying out game plans, its the managers fault and he deserves the blame just like he gets the credit when we win which isn't often enough.. King out,Ashley in to take us Forward… watp

    • I said last week players not carrying out instructions from management if that is still the case we need to assume which is what I said last week is that he has lost the dressing room it's the only reason.

    • The players must take the blame. We all know that every single player is capable of better. Even if you think they aren't good enough long term you must acknowledge they are better than that. Goldson was being hailed as the new Carlos Cuellar just a few months ago but now he's turned into the new Rob Keirnan. Barasic, a Croatian international with a wicked left foot delivery suddenly can't get it past the defenders arse. Lafferty's early season a Hearts form a distant memory. In general the high press, high tempo game has changed to a plodding back and side passing game where players are afraid to take that gamble with a forward pass. It's not good enough and is unacceptable.
The manager can't escape the blame either. I still think he's the man to take us forward and his post match comments hit all the right notes. But he's now got to be seen to be a completely ruthless and start knocking a few noses out of place. Do you think Alex Ferguson was popular with his players? I hope this could be the making of him. He alluded to that himself by pretty much saying it's time to stop being so loyal and fair to players. Let's hope so!

  15. Well well I didn't renew my session ticket this year because of sg he is a reserve team coach at best as for players ie oj worral goldson jack Kent there are no leaders on the park tav ill buy his tickets to West brom team has no fight once again I dread Thursday big sam would be my choice but money we don't have we are not an academy team for Liverpool sg will never get that job another waste of money again the board need to take the rap this time poor appointments again and again only grezda and lafferty were trying today we are becoming a joke of Scottish football

    • WTF! Let's get Mike Ashley in and appoint Sam Allardyce as manager. Where have you been for the last 5 years. Some comments are just too stupid to contemplate.

  16. Why do we ALWAYS play with two wingers and a lone striker? I'd like to see some variation now and then where we can play more direct, through the middle using Lafferty's height for flick ons etc.

Its too easy to stop Rangers at the moment. Double up on us in wide areas as there is no desire (or creativity) coming centrally

  17. Rangers have been found out tactically. Move the ball far too slow. Always trying to overload flanks but no creativity or spark through the middle of midfield. Need to commit opposition into tackles. First time we had a runner from deep we score and get a defender sent off.. Ejaria a waste of a jersey in that attacking midfield role… So so pedestrian.

  18. Would we have been better of with a decent Scottish manager at the start of the season? With hindsight I think it would have been the better call. Gerrard was an exceptional player but there are very few have made the leap from great player to great manager. Maybe half a dozen or so. I think he has underestimated the size and scale of the task he has at hand. Loan players,Journeymen, kids and very average foreigners will not win anything because they don't really care.

    • That's the truth. They care nothing, about our proud history! Well, they should be treated now, like WE don't care. Get rid!!

  19. I stand by what I said in your subject titled "Seven changes; this Rangers XI will crush Dundee",,, Inconsistency is our enemy!

  20. I am stunned beyond belief that some people think Mike Ashley would be better than Dave King. I'm not a huge fan of King, but at least he has a proven record of being a Rangers man. Ashley only cares about himself, so if we think today was bad (which it was) then it could get a whole lot worse under Mike Ashley. Just ask Newcastle supporters.
We have the best squad of players that we have had since we were in division 3, but we don't have a Laudrop, Gascoigne, Albertz, Numan, Van Bronkhurst etc. We are a million miles away from the quality of players that we have had in the past, so it is unrealistic to expect the level of performance that we were used to in the past.
    Notwithstanding that…today was awful.

    • alanc, well said. Realism at last.
We are still a work in progress and will continue to be so for a while. We had off days when we had a team of internationalists – so what do you expect when we cannot afford players of that quality. We have to grow and develop our own. I thought team selection was good, tbh, before the game. Except Worral who I am not a fan of. Grezda was asked to play in the hole, I believe he has played up front internationally so probably the best option we had with 3 No 10s out (Murphy, Dorrans and Arfield)
It didn't work. So let's man the fuck up and get on with it. Coaches who know more than me can analyse why it didn't work, but I was happy to see Coulibaly and Ejaria dropped. Was only sad we didn't have Mepude or Dallas on bench. We could have used them.
Consistency comes with better and older players. We can't afford them. If that is unacceptable to some, put the money up, suggest a way of getting quality players for less or support a different team.

Me, I would like them to chase Halkett, who can do it in this league, instead of boy from Millwall we are linked with. See what I did there, I came up with a suggestion. Agree, disagree, up to you. But moaning on its own will solve nothing

    • 5 million for the guy from millwall so we are 14 million in debt but you want 5 million on one player do you know how count. 14 million becomes 19 million in debt in one shout. So I suggest to you how do we bring the debt down let's see you answer that.

    • Ã…lanc, totally agree. I've never thought we would win the league this season. The only thing that's changed is that Im now absolutely certain. I remain confident, at the moment, that we will finish second but we have to address the glaring faults we have in our team. That won't be easy because the players that we need are the most sought after in football and are not readily available but I hope we can go some way to tackling it. I'm absolutely certain the manager knows exactly what our defincies are.

    • Scud, read it again. I said we should be going for Halkett (out of contract in summer) who we can sign on a pre-contract next month, instead of Milwall boy we are linked with. There is £5 million saved straight away.
So, I have answered you, now why don't you EVER answer me?

"But you have NEVER answered my questions
"What do you suggest Scud? What should we do? What's your answer?"

Why not Scud? You must be able to think. You can type. So give us something, anything to make us believe. Anything that is not just negative, moaning and complaining. Write something constructive. You have a reputation to change."

    • Scud you can clearly type but maybe doing sums isn't your thing. You count every pound spent as more debt while completely ignoring any income. We have probably brought in around £10-12m since the accounts were announced in June. Let's leave the finances to those in charge.

  21. Ill take the position were in today than where we were last year. Yes lots of problems but everyone goes through sticky patches. Going by what we have done in europe, i dont think we dead….yet.

  22. The return of the side-passing with no bravery going forward. This is bad. I'm starting to feel now, that our team is taking the sheer piss out of us and wilfully, trying to sabotage our season. Heads must roll for this. Come January, a total clean out and these 'empty jerseys' must be told, their days at Ibrox are coming to an end. STOP being too SOFT with them, SG. A disgrace to the club and it's supporters.

  23. What a difference a week makes. Last week Gerrard we were told that EPL would come calling for him as he had us at the top of the league. Now he is a dud coach from Liverpool academy. People commenting the league is over and it's not even Xmas yet. Reality is that we replaced our youth coach as manager with Liverpool's youth coach what is the difference.

    • I'm fed up with this youth coach nonsense. You may remember we once appointed Graeme Souness who wasn't even a coach at any level then when he left we appointed Walter Smith who had never been a manager. In case you missed it we replaced Graeme Murty with football legend Steven Gerrard. It was an intelligent and creative appointment.
Or you can take your pick from the other candidates: McInnes, Wright, McLeish, Pardew, Allardyce. Who would you have picked Scud?

    • Who would you rather have then Scud? C'mon, let us all learn at your feet. You have never answered a question from me, but maybe you will answer one from someone else.
Robrob has given you 5 choices, or you can suggest a sixth if you prefer. But say something.

  24. Hi Alan,Ashley hasn't/doesn't put the money into Newcastle due to what league they are in and teams he would have to compete with,Liverpool, man city/utd,Chelsea, arsenal, spurs etc…whereas in Scotland he would only have 1 team to compete with and wouldn't have to spend that much compared to at Newcastle or any team for that matter in English premiership… watp

    • Dave

That is correct. But, it was also corre t last time he came up here and he didn't invest then, just ripped us out of 97% of the jersey profits. If he had invested, the fans would have been behind him. But he didn't. Doesn't care about football, or teams, just money. His choice, but its why fans hate him

    • Ashley is a fat greedy bastard who ripped us off and continues to hamper our progress in selling our kit. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but that's why we are in this Brexit shit.

  25. 26. We need to stop conceeding early stupid goals. Unfortunately Celtic have it in the bag. We dont have the bottle for a challenge. Felt like I was watching Warburtons rangers tonight.
