Who are Rangers’ 25 men?

After confirming Rangers’ squad is 25 men, assistant manager Gary McAllister got us thinking about who is actually considered Rangers’ senior squad these days.

The number two announced yesterday that the first team selection is made from 25 men, and while some of these are patently obvious, some are less so, so exactly who are Rangers’ squad comprised of?

Obviously, in goalkeeping terms it’s Allan McGregor and Wes Foderingham, but G-Mac did mention Robbie McCrorie as well yesterday.

In defence, James Tavernier, Connor Goldson, Lee Wallace, Nikola Katic, Joe Worrall, Gareth McAuley, Jon Flanagan and Borna Barisic.

In midfield, Ryan Jack, Jordan Rossiter, Andy Halliday, Lassana Coulibaly, Ross McCrorie, Ovie Ejaria, Scott Arfield and Graham Dorrans.

On the flanks Daniel Candeias, Eros Grezda, Jamie Murphy (albeit out), Ryan Kent and Glenn Middleton.

And up front Umar Sadiq, Alfredo Morelos, and Kyle Lafferty.

Pretty tight.

25 excluding Jamie Murphy and McCrorie. Is that our official 25-man squad as hinted by McAllister?

Tonight’s match up with Ayr will feature a number of youngsters who might not get such opportunities in the league or Europe, so while we can probably identify the 25 men alluded to, it will be good for the young blood to get their opportunities tonight.

The growth of Rangers continues unabated.
