Rangers star earns national team call up

Rangers’ star left back Borna Barisic is the first Steven Gerrard signing to get a fresh call up to his national team following the announcement of Croatia’s squad to face an upcoming friendly with Portugal in the all-new Nations League.

While team mate Nikola Katic misses out this time, Rangers’ recent signing from Osijek has impressed national boss Zlatko Dalić enough to earn himself another call up and this news affirms the new level of standard Rangers players are attaining, that our left back will be involved against Ronaldo’s men for the recent world cup finalists.

The call up for the 3-time 25-year old cap follows his near miss for the finals squad having made the 30-man shortlist to make Russia, and now it seems the Croats are ready to make him a more important member of their squad.

The question is of course how he’ll handle Ronaldo and co, but he clearly has the talent and ability. Let’s just hope the friendly isn’t on a plastic pitch eh…

  1. Great news! And the chances are, with AC Milans left back Strinic having to take a break from football because of a heart defect, he could become their regular.

I watched their left back at the World Cup and he is as every bit as good from what I saw in the Osijek games but it is early days.

The great thing is - his value has just increased. And that's the kind of transfer business we need to keep doing.

  2. Exatly Coco
We need to generate funds by bringing in players, developing them and selling them on. Or identifying good players others have missed, sign them and then wait until others realise and we can realise the profit.
Not sure what category Lafferty comes into mind you😢

    1. Get your point but we have 3 seasons to put an end to that showers run so players like Katic cannot be sold. Not till 55 arrives

  3. If that boy gets into his national team starting 11 regularly his asset value will go through the roof. Look at that big Rubber heed Boyata, £9M & he’s a dud.

  5. Niko Katic would be in the team as well but he has been 'given' this time to Cro U21 as they are trying to qualify for U21 Euro and play at the same time
