Gerrard confirms status on two big Rangers transfer stories

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has today denied both stories about Josh Windass and Bosnian international striker Armin Hodzic.

Ipswich Town have been credited with a £1.4M bid for the Rangers’ attacker, but Gerrard has denied any knowledge of such a bid and this one is either Rangers’ boss playing his cards close to his chest or publicly confirming the story is hogwash.

Meanwhile Bosnian press yesterday claimed Rangers were looking at Dynamo Zagreb’s 23-year old striker Armin Hodzic, but Gerrard has again poured cold water on this and other rumoured interests by denying any interest in any Bosnian players, period.

Gerrard does hope to get more business done, and admitted there might be time for more work to be done before the end of the window, but if his comments today are anything to go by, Josh Windass isn’t going anywhere and Rangers won’t be signing anyone of Bosnian descent.

  1. Actually it's really news from Steven Gerrard as Rangers and Rangers alone will decide what happens there not the slash press or especially the disgraceful BBC . The Red Card disgrace highlighted that once again as we lost 2 valuable points as a result if this conspiracy . ONWARDS WATP

    • Stop blaming everyone else. Morales kicked out and deserved this red card. We have got away with one today.

    • we got away with nothing as his dismissal from the game cost us 2 points his red card being overturned is justice for what was an awful decision…anyone with eyes that watched the match will be able to tell you that, clancy couldnt wait to show the red he was itching for it nd mckenna shouldbhave the book thrown at him, we talk about sporting integrity all the time where was his and how did ge escape without a booking?? consistency is key and had he sent dom ball off which he should have then there would be no conspirecy talk but he didnt and has allowed himself to harbour fhe nlame because of his own decision making

    • It was the linesman that made the decision NOT Clancy. We need to stop all this conspiracy stuff m,It’s doin my head in🙈🙈

    • The disgrace of the red card wasn't Morelos being sent off. It was the fact that the aggressor of the situation went unpunished. There is NO way the linesman could have saw the kick and not saw the off the ball barge into Morelos. They were effectively the same incident.
The SFA might feel fairness has broken out but it hasn't. Once again, for the 4th time in 12 months, we had to steer our way through a match with 10 men. Everyone will remember the same thing happening at home to Hibs at the same time last season and could argue that result was a blow that we never quite recovered from and set the tone for a poor home record.
That, BigJim, is where the conspiracy theory comes from. It may we'll be tosh but how many other teams have had that level of red cards overturned as a result of too many referees all too keen to send off a Rangers player, for whatever reason, and at the same time ignore other misdemeanours from opposition players. Stokes ( v Hibs), Broadfoot (v Kilmarnock) and McKenna and May from Sunday to name just a few.

  2. We must be going for strikers though? What we have simply won't cut it. Gerrard might just be acting coy. That's a good market to shop in though. The croatians seem to have the perfect blend of attributes for the Scottish game.
