Two out, one in and a legal battle – the latest from Ibrox

The past 24 hours have been a pretty eventful sequence of events down Ibrox way, with a number of personnel under the microscope and the long-awaited launch of the new kit, not to mention Dave King’s legal battle.

Ibrox Noise takes you through the main stuff:

Wes Foderingham is to leave. The 27-year old goalkeeper was wanted last summer by Mark Warburton’s Nottingham Forest, but Rangers rejected their overtures and Pedro Caixinha held onto the ex-Swindon man. Subsequent manager Graeme Murty did likewise, but reports have claimed the English stopper is surplus now under Steven Gerrard and Jak Alnwick will continue on as deputy, with Allan McGregor the new number one.

Bruno Alves has switched to Italian new boys Parma. The 36-year old undertook a medical for the Serie A outfit yesterday and is expected to be announced imminently on a one year deal, although we’re unclear if it’s a loan or permanent. Safe to say Alves was one which just didn’t work out.

Millwall’s Jake Cooper has emerged as a much-needed third centre back target for Steven Gerrard. The 23-year old England youth international is valued around £2M and Millwall would seek close to that for his services. An ever present in the Championship last season, 6ft 3 Cooper managed an outstanding four goals and three assists, and he is a prize asset to the Lions who finished a fine 8th last season. We’d welcome this addition.

Rangers launched their new Hummel kit, with three shirts on display. The home kit is the traditional style, while the away effort is a rather aesthetically pleasing white shirt with a sash-type blue and red stripe and the third kit an orange top.

And lastly Dave King is in a spot of bother after being charged with contempt following apparent failure to bid for the shares he was ordered to. It apparently rests on difficulties over cash transfer, and the fact he reportedly has to transfer £11M from South Africa to the UK. Something he hasn’t allegedly done. It’s all a bit confusing and we hope it clears up soon.

Never a dull moment down Edmiston way.

  2. On the playing front I’m trusting the manager.

As for King, he’s taking the piss and although it’s his personal battle, it’s beginning to bring disrepute on our club. Sort it out Dave and stop dicking about.
