Rangers fans puzzled at key player's disappearance...

Rangers fans were more than a touch puzzled at left back Declan John’s absence from the bench yesterday.

Sure, the chances were that new signing Jon Flanagan would continue in that berth in the XI, but the Welsh international’s absence even from the substitutes raised eyebrows and a great number of concerns.

Some fans were disappointed that Steven Gerrard would consider John surplus, and others asked if he was injured, but the reality is, for whatever reason, John did not travel with the squad to Macedonia.

We’re not clear on whether this was a personal issue or just an injury concern, but we would be stunned and shocked if Gerrard has dumped him entirely, especially given the form and performances the Welsh international has been in.

Nevertheless, John was not present for training prior to the match and wasn’t on the flight either.

We’re sure this will be straightened out soon enough.

  2. He posted on Instagram last night that his grandad has passed away so he’ll be having time off I imagine.
