Pundit claims Steven Gerrard is looking at Scotland international

Probably to be taken with a pinch of salt anyway, but nevertheless ‘friend of Rangers’ Chris Sutton has this afternoon claimed on BT Sport that Rangers are ‘looking at’ Motherwell’s flying winger Chris Cadden.

The 21-year old winger has been long linked with a switch to Ibrox, and now according to Sutton’s ‘sources’ the Scotland international is now very much on Rangers’ monitors and Steven Gerrard is interested.

Following Daniel Candeias’ dropping to the bench on Thursday, Rangers lack one seriously convincing right winger (albeit he was dropped from the 10 role, and Gerrard seems uninterested in playing him in his natural slot) at present with ‘current’ right winger Josh Windass also suffering a ditching to the subs.

It may be Gerrard seeks his own stamp on that area of the pitch – Jamie Murphy struggled on that side, despite being naturally right footed, and while Ryan Kent is known as able with both feet, if Sutton’s wise word is to be believed (and why not (!) it may well be that the six-figure rated Cadden is on the radar for Gerrard and Director of Football Mark Allen.

Would this be a signature we want?
