Rangers closing in on three-man swoop; reports

According to sources and reports, Rangers are getting ever closer to a three-man swoop, with an alleged £5M bid tabled with Swansea for striker Oliver McBurnie, a loan deal for Liverpool youngster Ovie Ejaria nearly complete and a similar arrangement for his team mate Dominic Solanke looking possible.

Curiously, all the above are strikers or wingers, suggesting Steven Gerrard is prioritising that as an area desperately needing improvement, and which equally bodes poorly for the potential futures of all three ‘existing’ strikers in Alfredo Morelos, Eduardo Herrera and seemingly-departed Jason Cummings.

With certain quarters claiming Harry Wilson was a done deal, Ibrox Noise reported recently that our information was otherwise, and that pursuit has indeed gone very quiet – with the Solanke, Ejaria and McBurnie group now seemingly heading Rangers’ want list, it does appear Steven Gerrard and Mark Allen’s priorities have switched elsewhere and hopefully players will get secured soon.

Defence and attack was where work was needed – despite the side being top scorers in the SPL, there is little doubt what Rangers had up front wasn’t good enough to challenge Celtic.

It seems management are working hard to change that.

  1. IN we need to be patient , I'm sure Steven Mark and Andy will be working hard to get us who we can afford but most importantly what we need . All of those mentioned would be very good additions .

  2. My understanding is Ejaria's favourite position is number 10 behind the striker. Looking at him on YouTube he could do a job anywhere in the middle of the park. Has a hint of Yaya Toure about him imo.

  3. I would be well happy with these 3 arriving and Wilson also if possible.
Disagree with the fact we were top goalscorers and not good enough to challenge them, leaking all that goals that was the problem for me.
Even with that 4 and retaining Morelos we still need about 6 more players!

  4. McBurnie is a no no... a hope. Personally imo Moreles is worth staying patient with as he has loads of potential.

  5. Not sure I see us paying £5 million for a 22yr old who is out of contract in 12 months.
Take Solanke on loan for 12 months and make an appointment to see Olly in January for a pre-contract signing.

I am a big fan of McBurnie, but want him here for long term and happy to wait a few months to save £5 million we can use elsewhere.

    Happy Birthday, Olly :-)

  7. Don't understand why wewe' not trying 2 snatch Kamberi from under Lemmon's green nose! Surely we can give him a better deal. He scored 9 in 14 games since Jan - strong, quick & scores all types of goals, maybe a good partner for Solanke if we get him. Get rid of MOH & use the money that that frees up. Need two dominant centre halves - dump Alves, and buy a decent ball winning midfielder who can control games. That would be a good starting point for me.

    1. I read the other day that his swiss club have bumped up his price. But hibs had a deal to take him at a much lower price after his loan.

    2. Thats correct. 1.7m is the asking price but Hibs can get him cheaper

    3. Admiral, I agree. Suggest a call to his agent. If he had the choice, I think he would want Gerrard over Popcorn teeth.
tell him we are interested, let him and his agent work a way out

  9. Total mince!! Rangers were the top scorers in the league last season, we were in the top five for goals against though, where as Celtic were top for not conceding.
We need our defence sorted as priority, with one or two to strengthen midfield and maybe 1 more decent striker as well as back up strikers, according to who we let go and who we keep.

  11. Agree with Signing Elijia and Solanke on Loan and McBurnie on a PD

But I dont agree with paying £5mil for him!

    1. We Need a RB who can Challenge Tav
    2. Sell Alves & Cardoso

    2.1 - Buy 3-5 CBs
Terry or Collins, Bartley, Goldson, Isherwood

    3. Keep Wallace as Bck-Up to DJ

    4. For CDM we are fine for Options
    (McCrorie, Jack etc)

    5. RM - Need A Bck up for Candieas

    6. CM - Same as CDM
    (Along with Docherty, Dorrans etc)

    7. LM. - Plenty for this position
    (Arfield, Murphy, Middleton)

    8. ST -
    Sell Morelos, Keep Cummings
And Give Hardie a Shot! 😒👊⚽🔴⚪⭕

  12. Sell Alves Cardoso, Pena, Morelos and all the dead wood from last season. This is not time for emotions and the right time to take out the trash, as the yanks say.

  14. My mate is a Liverpool fan and watched Solanke closely. He reckons he is a dud. In any case Liverpool will not loan him out until late in the Window as they want to make sure they dont lose any strikers to injury or a monster bid from Spain.

  15. ejaria dont get excited about this kid he could not hack it last year at sunderland was out his depth hes a good player with kids his age but when he has to step up to another levell hes not so good so dont get excited if he was that good liverpool would not let him leave so take it from one who seen him play last year he wont send ibrox wild just a average player

  16. Let's get real McBurnie isn't worth £5M and Rangers will not be paying out £5M for ANY player! Solanke? Just is out. Looks a bit cumbersome to me. And IMO... a poor man's Lafferty!

  17. Re comments about Hardie...he's gone .Contract was terminated on the same day as Miller. In any case, I don't rate him. Does the same every time he goes out on loan i.e. has a great start, scoring goals then after a few weeks can't get in the team. I like the kid but he's not Rangers class!
