Rangers star player officially recognised

Jamie Murphy has been officially recognised for his stellar start to life at Ibrox by receiving a call up for Scotland manager Alex McLeish’s first squad.

The on-loan Brighton man has lit up Govan with his exemplary displays and is likely to feature against Costa Rica and Hungary, and despite receiving call ups in the past has never played for his country.

Along with injured Russell Martin and hat trick hero Jason Cummings, the 28-year old winger is set to play a major role in a fundamental reshaping of the national side under new boss Eck, and it is just reward, especially in he and Cummings’ cases, for outstanding displays for their club.

We are a little less sure as to why Martin got the call, but nevertheless we wish him well too.

Unsurprisingly the supposedly neutral national broadcaster almost completely ignored all three of these call ups and focused instead on the first time call ups as well as the Celtic ones.

Some things never change.

  1. Very very pleased for Jamie and for Jason at last some unbiased divergence …they are better than what was there under Chesney…and we know why????..Brown twat resigned because Big Eck wouldn't pick the overrated article anyway !! Scotland will get better under his stewardship. I haven't commented on yesterday because I was very upset and dissappointed…however having read some of the pish written by Sutton and Gary Ralston to name 2..I am disgusted at the kicking we have been given and overgushing slash they have written ..the allocation of out of 10 for the Rotten Mob was a joke @!!…The goals we scored were easy Tierney is another overrated member of this bunch and if young repeat young Morelos had netted it would have all been different …Yes we defended poorly …yes Wes sold the jersey for Dembeles lucky punt…I look forward to Semi Final ……We can beat this shower @!!

  2. Murphy has simply raised the overall standard at Ibrox. He just comes across as a model pro, puts a shift in and has no little skill. Some of his performances up here have been excellent considering how little game time he's had at Brighton – would be great to complete the deal in summer. The other two can only have been selected because Eck reckons they can step up – again, neither has had much game time this season and I'm struggling with the assessment that Cummings has put in outstanding displays for his club. However, he did play well against Falkirk but needs to repeat this regularly against SPL opposition.

  3. Since Coming North Murphy has been amazing! …Fully Deserved ⚽👏💙

    …The Next Davie Cooper? 🤔
