Major boost for Rangers v Brentford

Rangers stars Graham Dorrans and Lee Wallace are currently stepping up their respective rehabilitations at Auchenhowie in a development squad fixture against Brentford’s B team.

0-3 down at half time, while the scoreline is certainly not impressive, the importance of the day is the increasing availability of both former Scotland internationals, and the vital fitness a good 90 minute run out will give them.

Featuring also in the match are fellow senior players Lee Hodson, Andy Halliday and Jak Alnwick, all looking to gain minutes, but sadly there are no places for Jordan Rossiter or Ross McCorie who continue to fight for fitness.

Kevin O’Connor’s B team from Griffin Park will see such a result as a big morale boost, and with Rangers more concerned about getting players like Dorrans fitness, while losing is never ideal, it really is all about rehab and ‘getting the load’ up, as is the buzzphrase these days.

Hopefully the development squad has a better second half nevertheless.

Incidentally, scorers for Brentford are Marcus Forss, Bradley Clayton and Reece Cole.
