11-player drama for Rangers

Rangers fans have been boosted and disappointed in equal measure by mixed news coming out of Ibrox with regards the playing squad.

A total of 10 players are affected by both good and bad news respectively, and Ibrox Noise takes you through the lot of it.

To get the bad out of the way;

Lee Wallace has been confirmed as continuing his recovery from a hernia having had a second op over the winter. While manager Graeme Murty hopes to have the player back reasonably soon, the lack of time scale suggests it could still be a number of weeks before the club captain is back training.

Meanwhile Bruno Alves’ rehabilitation in Portugal is taking longer than expected. The 36-year old suffered a calf strain in the Old Firm clash, and has been out since, and Murty has stated the timescale on him is more extended than previously hoped. Furthermore, Italian strugglers Benevento are reported to be interested in securing him, and ‘reliable journalists’ in the UK have claimed he is wantaway too.

Next up is Ryan Jack. The defensive midfielder is a definite absentee tomorrow through injury and once again only further examination will reveal the extent of the problem. Strangely Murty, having previously justified the tackle on him against Motherwell by Kipre, has now confirmed it is the cause of his extended absence and a scan is to be done.

Penultimately is Ross McCrorie. His ankle/foot injury is almost exactly as severe as we brought to you some weeks ago (thankfully not an outright break) and he is set to have a scan on it – timescale is not known yet officially but some have put 12 weeks on him. True or not, Rangers could be without him for some period yet.

Last but not least Graham Dorrans continues his rehabilitation and is out of plaster. This could be filed under good but it is never good not having your best players.

Onto the definitely good;

Rangers are likely set to hand debuts to all four winter signings tomorrow, be it from the bench or starting XI. Jason Cummings, Sean Goss, Jamie Murphy and Russell Martin are all in the match squad and highly chanced to feature in Fraserburgh. This adds extra intrigue to an already fascinating cup tie against minnows.

Furthermore, contrary to reports, James Tavernier has confirmed he is not interested in leaving Rangers. A sport aggregation site made a claim that he had not only failed to accept a new deal, but claimed he had rejected talks in the first place. The player himself tweeted to dispel this as ‘fake news’.

And last but not least as many of you will know Martin Canning has dropped Greg Docherty from Hamilton’s weekend cup clash to stop him being tied for Rangers. The 21-year old is on his way to Rangers but as yet no word on fee agreement or medical. We hope this will be finalised soon.

    • Back in full training.
U never know that might be him over his nightmare, if he breaks down again I think his career may be over unless they send him stateside.
Fell sorry for the boy me, he's heartbroken!!

    • I'd love to see the boy get properly fit as soon as possible and back playing again. I really hope the injury does clear up and it isn't the end of his career, I reckon there is a really good player there and it would be shame for the game to lose that.

  1. Alves should be gone shortly. Another piece of good news. Looks like some people are upset having no bad news and are now making there own up just to sell papers. If they were smart they would actually be proper reporters and tell it as it is and gain from the Blue pound

  2. No offence but this is not the sort of press we need to bolster the support. Far too similar to the daily nonsense written by Boyd and Barry which is not inspirational at all.

Alves is at it because Ross McCrorrie has shown him up as ANOTHER foreigner hoping to retire in an easy atmosphere.
    SO that should actually read
    Academy produce outshines Portuguese Pensioner.

Jack and Dorrans have been unlucky. But again if THEY don't produce better attendance records, see the first section. Don't do IT? Do ONE.

Waldo has been a brilliant purchase and same applies. We done better without him. Great squad fall back in case of injury/suspension.
Again. ONLY McCrorrie has produced consistently.

The acquisitions have been the best in 6 years.
    Aligned with:-

    Good man management
    Better tactics
    A Plan B during games
    Better scouting already
NOT giving players away for buttons
NOT throwing precious funds for over priced dross
Retrieved Loan players who might aspire to new managers requirements thus providing additional 'Free' players or Potential sell ons.
Rossitter, Aledgedly, all of a sudden under Mark Allen's watch.
Again hence potential squad addition or get him to fuck and let Scots youth show him up as a skiving council footballer who'll suddenly fulfill his potential as soon as landing near the Liver bird.

To end my rant. What a fucking boost from our U 19s.

We beat them on the beaches
We beat them in 72 on the way to Euro glory
We pumped them today on their own ground

Liam Burt apparently excellent AGAIN today.

All IS Good in The Sandy Jardine (front) Hood

Not to be misconstrued for Angels, Uddingston bar owner Harry, diving cunt, Hood who I fucked on the heed in my first ever home game at Home. Clyde at Ibrox 1969, with a lemon bon bon.
