As reported on the site at the tail end of last month, Rangers have been strongly linked with St Mirren midfielder Lewis Morgan. Recent reports claim Pedro’s men have recently upped their interest in the 21-year old who currently sits second in the Championship scoring standings with an impressive five goals from eight matches.
The Buddies similarly sit a point clear at the top of Scotland’s second top tier and a great deal of that is thanks to Morgan, who is impressing many admirers at the moment, and has been linked with a few clubs, not just the Ibrox men.
An argument could be made that Rangers have a subtle advantage in the hunt for his signature as the lad is an ex-Rangers youth graduate, and knows Auchenhowie only too well, not to mention his chances of playing in the first team are greatly improved if he chose Rangers over the likes of Celtic (scout Tosh McKinlay is said to be monitoring him)
It is a story to keep an eye on, and if he keeps his form up, one would imagine the suitors will only grow.
Watched him play for Scotland u21's recently looks a quality player, got pace and a creative spark the Gers definitely needs a new left winger/out and out left sided player he could certainly get a chance at us.
Interesting, would we rather have Morgan or Walker? Is there really room for both? What about Nemane? If he gets a run at left wing and looks ok, and wants to come to us, that's three potential left wingers instead of the none that we have right now.
Whatever else Windass is, he is not the answer for left wing.

Morgan's agent or dad would be daft to let him sign for the east enders as Hayes ex-Aberdeen left winger can't get a start because of Sinclair being so good.
If we sign him then we shouldn't treat him like a kid and try to "protect" him. He is the same age as Dele Alli, who has played nearly 100 games in the EPL and has 25 caps for England. Same as Walcott, Oxlade-Chamerlain, Rooney, Owen, Fowler, Smith….I could go on!! If we sign him, we need to play him.
That's the problem we have in Scotland is that a 21 year old is considered "a kid" and we feel the need to protect them, but if you look at top European teams (and national teams) they throw the youngsters in at 17-18 years old. Rangers need to buy the best young players at 18 year old (or develop them in house) and push a couple into the first team early, and hope they can improve their skills on the job. If they fail, so be it, but by refusing to play them because we are "protecting them" actually causes their development more harm. Barjonas has been mentioned, he comes into this category. Give him a run now Jack is out and if he plays well then Ryan Jack needs to bide his time.
I know I'm rambling now, but Callum MacGregor (24 years old) was described by journalists as a "youngster" when talking about whether he should be playing for Scotland, looking to make his debut in a vital qualifier . Christian Eriksen (Spurs and Denmark) won his 70th cap age 25 year old..!! As a 15 year old he had trials at every big team in Europe but he chose Ajax because he knew he would get valuable game time and experience.
Buy Lewis Morgan. Buy Tony Gallagher at Falkirk. Give McCrorie, Barjonas, Hardie and Rudden opportunties from the bench, especially in games where we are a couple of goals ahead. Spend money on others in the Scottish or English U19 or U21 setup (or abroad) and give them opportunities. Lets be the club that is renowned for giving youngsters opportunities, like Ajax, even if we have to buy from other clubs.
Let's change our transfer policy and be bold with it. I'd rather spend £1m gambling on a 17 year old "Christian Eriksen" than gambling on a Herrera or Pena. £1m on a "experienced player" won't be special, but a £1m youngster could be world class one day and we need World Class players to beat Celtic…
