Rangers’ injury streak continues – three out, one doubtful

Rangers’ sudden injury deluge has slightly worsened over the past 24 hours with the news Graham Dorrans is a slight fitness doubt (albeit will start) and Niko Kranjcar’s injury was more severe than first feared and he is definitely out tonight.

Rangers are already missing Jordan Rossiter (knee) and captain Lee Wallace (groin) for the League Cup trip to Firhill, and the loss of Kranjcar (knee) is certainly not ideal with regards options for the left.

With relatively untried Aaron Nemane and inconsistent Josh Windass the only two real options now available for that flank, manager Pedro Caixinha’s options are a little thin there, and he will be hoping both are sufficient.

Meanwhile Dorrans struggled with illness over the weekend but has been passed fit to start – albeit how long he might last with his body still recovering from affliction is another matter entirely.

From last Thursday and a fully-fit squad the situation has dramatically flipped in the other direction.

One option the Portuguese still has for the left would be utility man Lee Hodson deputising for Wallace while flanker Declan John could fill the gap at left wing.

But we shall find out around 18:50 what the boss has plumped with.

  1. We could play 3 at the back tonight, with 2 wing backs, 3 midfield players + 1 playing behind our top goal scoring Columbian star, young Merolas who is performing magnificently at the moment.

If it works well, it could be repeated against Celtic.
