Rangers linked with second bid for West Ham midfielder
 Article by: Ibrox Noise

Rangers have been linked with returning for a second bite at the cherry over the past 24 hours. In a story that has resurfaced from January’s failed bid, Pedro Caixinha has been loosely mooted with trying again where predecessor Mark Warburton failed and signing Portugal’s Domingos Quina, a 17 year old attacking midfielder the Bread Man was unable to bring in during the winter transfer window.

Naturally the Portuguese connection is significantly driving this one, with West Ham arguably more receptive to loaning the kid out to a countryman, but if this was a player Warburton was after, does that not already pour cold water over it looking at his record?

Nevertheless the story has returned, albeit Rangers fans must be wondering why our club is being associated with so many attacking midfielders, while we already have Windass, Holt, Dorrans, MOH, Candeias, Kranjcar et al in the squad.

It is certainly a saturated area of the team, albeit not necessarily filled with the quality required, which is not to say Quina would resolve that issue but nevertheless.

The point is we need more defenders – our defensive frailties were laid bare against Niederkorn and such a position would be a welcome addition – but for now guys like Quinna are on the radar.

For what it is worth, he is a U17 and U18 international for his country, and qualifies for Portugal through his emigration from Guinea-Bisseau and won POTM at development league level in England on two occasions.

  1. We cannot catch Celtic by developing other teams kids.

What are we actually trying to achieve and what is the plan to do it? Somebody, anybody? I simply don't see any long or short term plan here at all.

    • Were about 4-5 years behind Celtic, that's the fact, were about 1-2 years behind Aberdeen that's the fact. Unless a billionaire buys us then as a staunch rangers man , unfortunately we will be seeing out the 80's again it's a fact. Pedro will be sacked after the hearts game ( after us drawing the Motherwell and getting beat of the hibs, and drawing ago hearts outing us 7 points behind Celtic 3 games in and 5 points behind Aberdeen)
Face it our team is shit, if dorrans was so good he would be at a top championship club, dalcio well , I wouldn't let him play at under 18 level)

We are going to see 10 in a row by the tims , fact, and that my loyal friends will never ever be achieved by us blue noses fact.
I live in England now and have done for over 30 years and believe me no one down here unless you know your history knows how big rangers are, all I keep hearing is how is Celtic doing and is rangers still in the lower leagues, fact.
It hurts me to say but I can't for the life of me seeing the rangers back at the top, the money gulf is way way to big from us to the comparison of Celtic champions league money.

  2. Let's wait and see. Like the idea of youth and potential but we also need players who can deliver now. Personally I would like more strength in depth up front. Not confident that Waghorn's or Dodoo can deliver consistently. Miller is getting on after all.

    • I have no problem with youth signings for the future, ie permanent deals.

I also have no problem with loans providing they can make a difference.

However loaning kids on this kind of basis, is never going to do our club any good short term or long. This player simply isn't close to being the calibre we need.

  3. We need more dig in the team , a solid defender and midfielder , someone who'l have Scott Brown shitting his pants . Never thought i'd see a Gers team with so many fucking wimps as we've had in recent years , since Warburtons arrival . Pedro seems to be continuing with this nonsense . The bread man said he hated Jock Wallace because of his aggressive approach when he managed Leicester and Warburton played there ! Oh to have big Jock leading our club right now , he'd soon have put and end to all this fannying about with defenders who can't even fucking tackle and fuckers who don't play for the jersey ! Just needed to get that wee rant off ma chest ! WATP

    • Foresaid Jimbo. We need a few hard men in our team. Hopefully Bruno Alves will solve the CB problems. I would also give him the Captains band, its clear Wallace (love the guy, but) is no leader! Two quality full backs also required. But yes, Jock Wallace would had instilled the passion and importance of playing in the Rangers jersey to our players.

  4. We have the making of a great 1st 11 in fody , a new rb cordosa alves Wallace
    Rossiter Jack dorrans
    Pena kranjkar
    Morales or Herrera or Miller
We need stop the confusing tactics , simplify our game and developed a winning at all costs mentality

  5. We have made some potentially good acquisitions and young Rossiter is back fully fit again. Surely we now have enough midfield players and strikers on our books and we should be turning our attention to securing a couple of quality fullbacks to replace both Tavernier and the hapless Wallace as well as bringing in a winger.
