Personal terms and fee agreed for international playmaker

Rangers have stepped close to sealing the signature of Norwich midfielder Graham Dorrans after Norwich City reportedly accepted Rangers’ latest bid for the Scotland international.

The 30 year old has been linked with a switch north for a number of weeks now, and has been high priority on Pedro’s list of desired targets, but with a lack of agreement over fee, the deal hit a stumbling block.

However, Rangers’ latest submission, said to be significantly over £1M, has now apparently been accepted by the Canaries giving the move the go ahead.

Dorrans for his part reportedly agreed terms some considerable time ago, and has been holidaying away in USA waiting on news of a green light between the clubs – with a fee sorted that now seems to be ago and once the creative player arrives home all that will be left is a medical and signature.

It is unknown yet exactly when the move will be formally ratified, but it appears only a matter of time.

NB: since this story was published, a number of media headlines have claimed the bid was in fact rejected. However, none of the content of the stories in question reflect these headlines, and it appears the problem is a lack of agreement about how the transfer fee will be paid, rather than the sum itself. However, further clarification on this developing story will be provided when we get it.

  1. Yaaaas you dancer… Can't wait to see him in the Rangers midfield another statement of intent from Rangers… See it's not all foreigners 😜

    • The last guy we sang that about forgot where he was supposed to put the ball and is thankfully looking like he'll be out the door.
      Let's not jinx this one!

  2. ye's need tae check raymondos twitter song on ibrox loyal, f*****g genious!needs a little input for chorus.

  3. I like all the signings so far but a bit confused why Tavernier is still there we need a good right back

  4. Norwich fan here. Dorrans is an excellent passer and versatile as he can play in a number of mid-field positions, but he's not particularly a creative player or the clinical goal scorer the press is making out. Of his 6 goals this season 2 or 3 were penalties (he's an excellent penalty taker). He's a stylish player with good technical skills though and will do a good job for you.

    • Cheers for the heads up Rick but we know he's added a bit of strength to his game since his early days at WBA.. Out of the two Naismith or Dorrans I'd say we got the better player – would you agree to that?

    • Headline misleading. Fee agreed. Terms agreed. There's just a little work on how the fee is to be paid.

  5. Delighted, Dorrans is a great buy and was born to play for The Rangers and I applaud Ped for sticking in there until he got his man

Starting to get a wee bit excited and while we don't know too much about some other recent signings what has come across loud and clear is that there doesn't appear to be a shrinking violet type among them which will make a massive and positive change compared to the pathetic attitude of The Loafs shower of Jessies

Wear the jersey with pride boys and get the cans of pledge in, I think we might just need them!!

You getting a smile on yer grid at the thought of this season coming up?
Defo think the Bears will mix it up this season with the new signings and what was there all ready… Bates Beerman Barjonas Hardie and co will only get better playing with these boys!

  6. Very happy with this news and I agree with all the comments about getting rid of James Tavernier in case they ever want to play him at right back. Sorry Tav, wing back or bench.

  7. It's not home & hosed yet…Have to shift Garner first to pay Norwich as they ain't happy with payment agreement.. Might delay it by a wk or so tops..

  8. Always liked Dorrans great player, Scottish and more importantly one of us, great signing Pedro..
