Post-Hearts venting board

After tonight’s colossal atrocity at Tynecastle, IbroxNoise would like to offer our readers a sounding off board to vent. Consider it cathartic, allow the spleen to be fully expressed in a thorough venting. User ID will be off for this article to allow every Bear to comment although moderation remains on.

Consider this a trial run at a forum, in light of how we are all feeling following one of the worst nights I can remember as a Rangers fan. I have no words for it, and I suspect few of you do too, but let it all out friends because that is why we have our site – our opinions as well as those of our readers.

Therefore consider this as a place to express your thoughts, because I am very sure you have more than one or two. It is rare we are lost for words like this so I hope you guys have a few.

Rant away...

  1. Hearts made quite a few signings in the January transfer window, so to be fair to Warbs, he didn't know how Hearts would line up tonight.

    3. Manager out of his depth, scouting dreadful, signings highly questionable, boardroom no money, retail Ashley, income from transfers in recent years...next to nothing, stadium needs upkeep, best players are in their late 30s and are close to end of deals, players are mediocre at best, I'll stop now

  2. Not a lot to say after that. All the same glaring issues which we all identified last season and hoped would be addressed in the summer..NOT...then hoped would be addressed in January...NOT.
So we bring more midfielders in on loan to develop for their parent clubs whilst our players sit on the bench or play in the under 20s. The defending was Sunday league stuffHill too old and slow...Kiernan don't even start me Tav...fuck off never a right back, Halliday IS NOT A DM!!!

But we will learn from this i'm sure...............................

Warbs please go your not at the races mate, .....depressed!

  6. I have never seen a so called Rangers team outplayed, bullied, torn apart and still trying to tippy tappy out from the goalkeeper as they did tonight. ALEX RAE for interim manager until the end of this season. Lucky to get 20,000 at Ibrox on Saturday if Warburton stays.. Warburton and his team of cowards have disgraced the jerseys of Glasgow Rangers. Won't be back until he has gone and for fucks sake take that fuckin' sad, sad excuse for a football team all the way back to the English Channel and fuckin' drown it. Had it. Had it. Had it.

We might have our problems at the moment but we can only go one way. We will rid the club of those who don't perform and in time will rightly reclaim our right at the top of the throne

  8. I'm sure you will all agree that tonight was simply unacceptable regardless of the hearts line up. Halliday is just not good enough and kiernan needs his p45 asap. I'm not sure warbs has the bottle or the stature to lead this club forward. Regardless of our final league position we should look to bring someone in with a bit more experience of the expectations of a club of this size.

  9. Gaz, you're joking right? We've listened to 'bedding in players' all season. This was down to 4th tier EFL level players not even putting in a shift, 2nd biggest budget in the SPL maybe in salary, certainly not in ability! Flat out bad players and they are all linked to the Hat! OUT NOW,

  12. The most abysmal performance in years from a Rangers side. They looked like they were suffering from a collective illness of which there was no cure over the 90 minutes. Ok, it was a bumpy pitch for a 'passing side' but that just exposed them as a one dimensional side. No fight, second to every ball and no clue when they had possession

  15. warburton must go, everybody can see the problems but him, the same players making the same mistakes every game but still keep their place no matter what, keirnen gets caught under the crossed ball every game but is a favourite of the manager so never gets dropped, tavernier and halliday make the same mistakes as well, to hear a rangers manager say that we always make subs on the 60th minute is shocking, so if a player is having a great game we take him off on 60 or if a player is having a mare we keep him on till 60 minutes because thats when we make the subs? embarrassing!

    ReplyDelete
  16. This was a disgraceful performance and the whole team is to blame, but one individual is more culpable than any other. Kiernan is a festering sore at the heart of the team. If Warbs thinks he has a great future/very young for a HB/can develop etc etc., then i accept his judgement. However, this is RFC not Rangers Development Team. The problem with Rob is that he creates havoc around him; other players e.g. Haliday, will get it in the neck for poor play (the third goal) but the problem starts with Kiernan. Kiernan lost Moult in the cup game against Motherwell and Hodson was blamed for the mismatch, Keirnan lost the ball and Hill got booked in the next game at Fir Park and tonight against Hearts was no where near the ball for the first goal (in 3 minutes) or the second (3 mins of restart). Probably because his confidence was shot, he then was a bomb scare for the rest of the match.
He should not be allowed to play in the first team again this season. Use a four with Senderos, Hill or Wilson or a back three with two of them plus Wallace, or any permutation with what is available, but do not play him again this season. I'm a big supporter of W&W but this is a line in the sand. No more.

  17. Warburton has to go NOW! His post match interview was as shambolic as his team on the park. He talks about Rangers having a responsibility to bring on the young paleyers we have brought in on loan, to look after them, before sending them back to their clubs. This is GLSGOW RANGERS - not some development team.
His signings have been shambolic. He might not have much money to spend but when he has he has used it carelessly. O'Halloran cost the same as Dembele! Garner 4 times as much.
Tavenier not good enough dior SPL. Kieran total disaster. Halliday second rate. Forrester - lazy and careless in possession. Hill too iold too slow. Senderos total jiolke. Barton - always going to be a disaster and Warburton handled it poorly. Kranjcar - finished. Rossitor - last thing Gers needed was a player who is proven injury prone given our financial restrictions. Windass and Crooks - not good enough for SPL.
Rangers first of all need a trusted and proven manager who knows the scottish game, knows what is expected at Rangers, and first of all will make us difficult to beat and then build from there.
King dig into your pocket and give Walter £10 million and he will put an end to Celtic's 10 in a row.

If walter could be persuaded it would lift the roof off the big hoose next season .Ibrox needs a lift and soon!look at the similarity between warburton and deila, defensifly and floding the team with midfielders. ambrose/kiernan sound familiar. Both of them have a football philosphy that does not work ,as rodgers sored it out straight away. albeit without any competition.Every fan should demand walter be brought back to give us back our credibility, starting with the next home game. your club needs u walter watp.

  18. Great idea for this ranting post.

I really thought that November was as bad as it got, completely wrong. We have had some bad results over the years but never have I seen a rangers team torn to pieces like that. Pathetic in absolutely ever department.

Just how many times can we make the same mistakes without doing something about them?

Just how many mistakes must Kiernan make before Warburton realises he's not anywhere near good enough?

Why where no defensive changes made when it was clear we were being destroyed? Luckily hearts only got the four. Very lucky.

Haliday like Kiernan us out his depth and simply not good enough, and yet he plays every week in a totally unsuitable role.

Midfield offered nothing, forwards had scraps and done very little with them.

Hearts bosses us in every department. Warburton says he doesn't know why.

Here's why- we are tactically inept and the opposition knows our game plan and that we are very unlikely to change. We give easy goals away through our weaknesses at crosses. We gift chances by clumsy and needless passing in defence. We offer little penalty box threat, either in open play or at set pieces in large part due to our tactical setup and style of play.

Our team also lacks in quality and there is not a gap in class between their players and ours, perhaps there best players offer more than our best players.

    WARBURTON MUST GO

  20. What are you all expecting. Still 2nd in the league and that's the best to ask for at this present time. There is no money in the club and by the looks of things there isn't any filtering through anytime soon. Celtic are moving further and further away as the January window clearly showed. The ring of 60 million was mentioned for 5 players but what was mentioned at rangers ? Nothing as it's a sad state of affairs ffs

  28. The saddest and most concerning aspect re- tonights pathetic, disorganised, directionless, fourth rate performance at Tynecastle was the fact that anyone who knows what a fitba looks like was also very well aware that the on-going potential for any fit & keen team to expose the current management set-up at Ibrox for what it is, and always will be as long as DK & current board continue to be short sighted & too stubborn to acknowledge the indisputable truth in front of their eyes & allow The Hat and his waste of space side kick (Baldrick!) to remain in place as we are in danger of turning a glorious & proud history into an irretrievable laughing stock, cause sometimes in life you can let standards slip to a level from which very few recover, more so the Famous Glasgow Rangers as our bar has always been much higher than the next club over last 140 odd years, I am not going to comment on the many many fail issues re- tonights shambles as it would be stating the bleedin obvious, even my wee granny commented tonight that we are pish, I want The Hat sacked yesterday and have for some time now but people comment that we couldn't afford to get rid of him (& Baldrick) financially but my honest feelings are that we have rwached the stage where WE CANT AFFORD TO KEEP HIM, this squad is capable, in the right hands, of so much more but not under these wallopers, Get Tommy Wright on the phone and sort this mess out I guarantee we would see a vast improvement in tactics (tactics! christ!) awareness, application etc. and Tommy would probably keep the best player in the team on the park instead of subbing him on 60 minutes, friggin unbelievable WATP

Perhaps that is why King etc are holding onto money for transfers in summer so that new boss can pick players he wants. In the interim bring back Walter for the rest of the season so we can at least try to get 2nd place.

  33. Due to consequences of being barred for ilicit and sectarian bile. I've chose not to even attempt to speak about Kiernan... £250k spent on a goalkeeper that will never feature under Warburton and still we have mentally impaired individuals running around like headless chickens wearing the colours of the Greatest club in the world. Irks me so it does.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Lee Wallace often excapes criticism too. A very good left back but I question if he is vocal enough on the park to be our captain. Most of the players look lost out their with hill and miller looking like our only natural leaders. Also say what you want about scott brown but no way would he of stood for that performance. He would of nailed someone in the first ten mins and sadly we lack that. PS I know there are far worse players than Wallace but if we are going forward he is one of the few players I can see being good enough for us if we progress

    ReplyDelete
  35. The Chairman needs to give Warburton decent money for players.

Kiernan and Halliday are liabilities and must be dropped. They make so many mistakes between them it's unreal.

I'm frustrated as he'll but also realistic. I don't blame the manager as much as I recognise frailties in the squad which will be rectified by spending 1 or 2 million on each of: a decent CB, a DM that is qualified for the position and stays injury free, a couple of decent quality CMS and RW. Currently we're struggling with players in those positions who were either free or 200k. The lack of quality shows. You get what you pay for.

    4. Problem is Warburton's record in signing players is very, very, poor! He continually signs exactly the same player. Lightweight tippy tappy midfielders, or wide men. He's now had a season and a half to sort out the defence. His answer Hill and Senderos! Has there ever been a more desperate signing than Senderos? The lack of money is a fallacy - our budget dwarves that of Hearts! Garner cost 4 times as much as Dembele! The problem is Warburton

  37. I seem to remember that when Warburton came to our club a Brentford defender criticised him for not getting their defence to practice defending cross balls. Seems like he was right about that. Waghorn and Hyndman should never have been subbed. Embarrassing. I feel sorry for the young boy Bates who we've just signed. Hope his career doesn't get ruined trying to learn from our defence. What does Davie Weir do on the coaching side.

  38. The stark reality is under Warburton this Rangers team won't be able to break down a bag of crisps. He has the 2nd biggest budget in the league yet he refuses to admit that we don't have a striker/defence problem( lowest goal return of any of the top 4 and we leak goals for fun.
The young kid Hyndman is a fantastic prospect but he has thrown him and Toral in when clearly they are going to battle with the pace of the games due to very little game time before they got here.
That midfield last night was clueless and leaderless.
Dave King is right not to give this guy anymore of what little money he has.
I seriously doubt we will finish second .. and even if we do Warburtons serious shortcomings as a manager are there for all to see

  39. Warburton is one dimensional a youth team coach who got lucky though had been found out down south complains about over inflated prices down south but only signs players from the lower reaches of England next what is frank mcparland doing surely by now he could have found a few players in Europe Africa asia or America that could do us a turn or is he not allowed air costs to go for foreign talent,Davie weir for such an accomplished player doesn't seem able to coach the simplest of defensive tactics to the defence they never hold their line,,,lastly when will we stop giving Dave king a free ride escapes critism constantly re if he put money into the club Ashley and others would lay claim to half of it if that had been the case the season ticket money would have been absorbed by said creditors, and press season signings they were bought by the early season ticket cash that came in also still no avenue of credit established not good enough from the board of directors,,,,I never expected us to challenge for the title never thought tho we'd be 25 points behind either,,,hope theirs truth in the red bull rumours of cash injection or take over but without investment in team scouting better quality players and directors we will struggle next year for 4th place,,,changes needed everywhere

  43. Warburton record is beyond abysmal- last season: 2 defeats away at falkirk, 3 defeats at hibs(one at hampden). This season loss away to aberdeen, 2 losses away to hearts, 3 thumpings from celtic. no wins in 4 games against ross county and st johnstone. and he comes out and says: i dont know why we were thumped 4:1 after ridiculous performance all over the park. as much as i dont like sutton, he asked the right question on tv yesterday: where is king and 30 million he promised? Second question should be why is Warbs still in the job when he is so inept? weir should also be excluded. why this guy comes out and says that 100millions is not enough to beat celtic to the title???!!! and wh is defence, his object of work on a daily basis, making same and same mistakes all over again?! i dont want to torment rob kiernan but he is league two in england level, not GLASGOW RANGERS!!! why the fuck is our best player subbed ffs???!!! We sing NO SURRENDER but this fecking lost surrendered without fight midway through the game. i pity those fans who attended a game and very sad thing to observe they leave the stadium with 20+ minutes to go.

time for change- on board level, on management level, and on the pitch level. im getting really frustrated at the directionless way our club and team are operating right now..

  45. I actually found it quite funny. That might be wrong, but it was comical some of the displays. No-one got close to pass marks except perhaps Hyndman. Is it any wonder the likes of Windass, Holt and Halliday are underperforming when Warburton keeps buying midfielders? No pressure at all on Hill, Kiernan and Tavernier as Warburton simply doesn't fancy the alternatives and won't buy others. It's insane. Tavernier last night was utterly disinterested after the third goal. Shocking.
Next game should be Alnwick, Hodson, Senderos, Bates and Wilson. Bring back Hardie, throw in some youngsters.... who could do worse than last night?

  48. I am only 28 and have supported rangers from the second I could say blue. Last night was hands down the most gutless display from a rangers team I have ever seen. I have been a massive defender of Warbs this full time and rightly so after last season, the wages may have been higher but bar what 500 thousand in total, he put together a team of 11 players and implemented a style of play which was a joy to watch...all emotions aside everyone can agree but after the start of the season and now this at a time where there was nothing but speeches about kicking on and closing the gap and cementing 2nd place this is NOT good enough for a rangers team, I've seen rangers be beat heavily before but there was always fight to try and get something out of the game even a bit pride at worst but last night the team didn't look like they can spell the word.
The reality is that bringing in a new manager right now will do more bad than good so I'm going to keep supporting and pushing the team till the end of the season, we all know what we're like as fans one minute raging the next we go on a good run beat a good couple of teams and we will be signing their praises again...you never know 2nd isn't unlikely and if he delivers that and the Scottish cup we can hardly say it was a bad season. Give the man till then and if things are the same or worse we can condemn him to the hills till then let's get behind the team, look at the hearts fans last night...8 games without a win, shouting for the managers head after a few games and then bang a great display and their signing his name, were better than that were f**king RANGERS FOOTBALL CLUB like a said let's get behind them!!!!!!! WATP...NO SURRENDER

I am sick and tired of him going to England for players that he knows---they have all been useless
Sack Warburton as soon as possible----he is set on a way of playing which is not working and is obstinate regards change----and when he goes take Kiernan--Tavernier--Halliday with him as he seems to prefer them

  50. If Warburton plays Kiernan, Foderingham, Tavernier, Halliday, and Waghorn against Ross Co this weekend it is surely clear that he has lost the plot. Its time for him and Weir to call it a day. The new goalie needs to kick the ball up the field at all times. Players need to stay in position. Tavernier is not a defender. Same for Kiernan and Wilson. Time to try different players in all areas. If they can't beat Celtic, Aberdeen, and Hearts away they'll be lucky to finish 4th. Forget the Scottish Cup. As I've said before there is no passion to play for Rangers. Most are fighting to retain their position or to even get an opportunity to play at all. ( feel for Hodson, Doodoo, Forrester). We have been pleading for a decent defense since the Cup Final last year and he buys a goalkeeper instead of centre halves. Last night was a debacle.

  53. I like the idea of Sir Walter coming in but why should that pressure fall on his shoulders, after all the greatness he has brought to us? It's simply not fair on him, he has done more than most. I'd give Tommy Wright a shot. His St. J team have nearly the same league record as us at present on a majorly smaller budget. He's obviously a far better man manager than Warbs, time would only tell if he was anywhere near as good at it as Walter. He can't be any worse than Warbs IMO.

    1. It would be impossible for anyone to be worse than Warbs! He is rivalling PLG as the worst manager in our illustrious history. I'm coming round to the idea of Tommy Wright as our manager, as we need somebody who has experience of Scottish football and understands that at Rangers winning isn't just everything, it's the only thing! Stuart McCall, Robbie Neilson or Wright are my preferred options for manager, with McCall my top pick because he's a Rangers legend. WARBURTON MUST GO NOW!

  54. When you think of where our club could be, we are the biggest, best club in Europe. Being unfairly treated just cause we didn't want to pay our taxes. We shouldn't have had to pay tax anyway, does the queen (god save her) need to pay tax. No it's all a conspiracy, they're out to stop us being the cream of the Scottish crop. I spoke to some brothers at the lodge, and they all agree ...we are the people. Everybody else is just jealous and cheat us at every opportunity, these referees are all part of it, secret tims, saluting the Pope from there secret enclaves!
