Wigan confirm signing of Rangers star

6

It has been confirmed today that Rangers’ former number two Matt Gilks has completed his permanent exit from Ibrox to Wigan for an ‘undisclosed fee’. Rangers, who yesterday clinched the signing of 23 year old Port Vale stopper Jak Alnwick, have dispensed with the services of Gilks after the Scotland cap failed to break through to the first team and ran out of patience with his time at Ibrox on the bench.

As has been reported Gilks was the one who sought the move and Rangers were not of volition to sell him but Wigan’s interest has been on record for weeks and with the player desiring the move Warburton did not hold him back and he has now departed Rangers for the EFL Championship again where he will hope to be first choice.

  1. Will always remember his performance against Celtic , all the best for the future Gilks. Too good to be sitting on the bench.

  2. the question I want to ask is not in relation to gilks but can anyone tell me what is the situation with Rossiter we dont get any feed back from the club we have not been advised what his injury actually is the last we heard was weeks ago a statement said he would be outside!! the following week strange indeed

  3. 442 – I have good sources and its not terribly encouraging news. The issue he has isn't clearly defined and is one of these niggles tha is hard to resolve.

Give it his fitness record its hard to say when or even if we will see him on field of play.

Clearly this player has quality and we would be a stronger side with him fit. Very frustrating for all.

    • The best we are? Jak has played for England youth and won player of the year last year, not sure if you expected us to buy a Eoropean class keeper at 7 million for the SPL as it wont happen.
