Monday’s Rangers transfer roundup; the latest

A new week, more new names appear on Rangers’ transfer madness list. More have faded away as well as time has worn on in this window, and with five players now secured it is time to take another customary updated look at the new possible ‘ins’ on Rangers’ radar.

Lee Hodson:

This right back is currently plying his trade for Northern Ireland at the Euros, and would certainly fill a major vacancy in Rangers’ squad; that is of competition for James Tavernier. The 24-year old is a Bosman, and knows Mark Warburton well from their time at Watford, and with his time at MK Dons coming to an end the international may well consider a switch to the Scottish Premiership and Rangers a bit of a step up from English League 1.

James Vaughan:

Not exactly one who has set fans’ heather on fire, Vaughan’s name surprisingly appeared recently, with the English 27-year old striker off the back of a frankly horrendous period at Birmingham in which he has failed to score a single goal. He is still contracted till January next year, so he would cost a modest fee if Warburton is truly interested in him, and in his defence his time at Huddersfield was a bit more productive with around one goal in three.

Adrian Mariappa:

Recently freed by Crystal Palace, this centre back is an international for Jamaica and was recently spotted in chats with David Weir and Head of Recruitment Frank McParland. At less than 6ft, he is not the biggest of stoppers, but he has bags of EPL experience and is of a good age (29) to add wisdom to defence on top of that which confirmed new boy Clint Hill will provide.

Niko Kranjcar:

According to reports, this signing will finally be concluded this week; some outlets even claim within 48 hours. His midfield creativity will add a great deal of nous to Rangers’ engine room, and with experience at the very highest levels, for a free transfer his signature would be a heck of a coup for Warburton.

And finally…

Khalid Aucho:

This nonsense story has finally been put to rest with the emerging reports he is to trial for Aberdeen. It is unclear where this link ever even originated from, but evidently no one from Ibrox was remotely interested in the Ugandan. And why would they be?

  1. What ever happened to Steven Taylor? Last we heard he was up for a look around before going to Turkey to speak to other clubs but havent heard anything more on that one. I dont think he has signed for someone else yet, you think that one is still on the go?

    • Taylor was another 1 that was just flying a Kite to see who would pick up on it , I reckon he will go wherever the cash is & TBH I wouldnt take him he is Gash
Same with Aucho again it looks like an agent has tried to get him a move & it looks like he is off to the sheep.
I want Krancjar & I hope we get him,
And also just heard Big Wallace has signed a new contract so happy days

  2. dont give sports direct a penny, lets get the fat rat out our club,, in king our trust watp,,

  3. Its ridiculous the quality of some of the players we are being linked to ,unless we get a decent striker we can forget about challenging the septic and I've only seen us linked to one boy far Liverpool which seems unrealistic given money required
