Lang & Mcleod among players released from Murray Park

Rangers have today confirmed that Tom Lang and Mekhi-Leacock Mcleod are among eight players to have been released by the Academy this summer.

Defender Luca Gasparotto had already tweeted his own departure some days ago, and Dylan Dykes, David Brownlie, Darren Ramsay, Jamie Brandon, and Jamie Mills have all joined he, Lang and Mcleod on the way out of Ibrox.

None of the above managed a match-day squad under Mark Warburton, with Gasparotto the biggest success in the McCoist days, managing a handful of appearances, but like his colleagues has found his chances limited at Murray Park and youth boss Craig Mulholland has confirmed all eight have been released.

It is extremely hard to succeed at Ibrox, and only the very best make it through; ergo this is a tough time for these lads who will have to find a new club to continue their careers with. It is especially disappointing for Lang and Mcleod who were signed in a blaze of publicity, but for one reason or another it has not worked out.

All fans will wish these players the best in their future careers.

  1. wagecutting exersize,,,its no rocket science,,the clubs broke,,,full stop,,,paper up the cracks as u please,,

    • go troll somewhere else…it's not rocket science that players targeted by WS & AM wont fit in with MW's playing style.
Also no surprise that with so much work required to redo the first team that the youth squad was left till now to be looked at.
Everyteam almost every year release the majority of their youth players so are they all (inc. Celtic) broke & papering over cracks?
