Waghorn ruled out for two months

Rangers’ star striker Martyn Waghorn has been ruled out for at least two months according to Sky Sources.

The prolific front man has been talismanic for the Ibrox men this season, with a flurry of goals during the most productive period of his career, but after winning a penalty at Rugby Park on Tuesday night, the 26-year old was taken off injured.

Following examinations which took place over the past two days, it has been revealed the forward has a knee injury which will rule him out for around two months.

Rangers are hardly lacking in cover in that area, with strikers Nicky Clark and Kenny Miller available, along with wingers Barrie McKay, Billy King, Harry Forrester, and Michael O’Halloran.

However suggestions are being made that manager Mark Warburton will nevertheless dip into the transfer market and get a Bosman in order to cover Waghorn’s absence directly.

We shall see.

  1. I believe Clark and Miller can do a great job in the central striking role. We have McKay, O'Halloran, King, Forrester and hopefully a chance for Leacock-McLeod on the wide.

Would hate to see us use the bosman to sign a back up player, we have a youth academy. Let's use it!!

  2. hope he recovers soon but you where saying it was time to give him a rest so we,ll see now what were like without him,,

  3. Agree one man doesn't make a team but he'll definitely be missed. He's lucky it wasn't for much longer you know what a knee injury usually means for us in the past. We definitely won't be signing any one on a free just now no point even talking about it. We have enough cover who knows with a bit of luck wee Clark can kick on from that goal and try and prove that he is worth a new contract

  4. Gotta be McKay, miller, o'halloran.. With king, forrestor and Clark off the bench. This is Nicky Clarks Chance to earn himself a new contract. Really hope the boss does not bring someone else in. Let the boys have a chance to prove themselves.

  5. good luck to Waghorn but he is out of the equation now for the rest of the season, so we need to crack on now with what we got. I think its time for the rest of them to really put a shift in now, we should be pushing hard to gte the league done & dusted & not be hanging on at the end of the season hoping results go our way.
