Rangers’ youngster loan extended

Rangers Canadian centre-half Luca Gasparotto has today confirmed via his Twitter account that he has extended his loan spell at Morton till the end of the season.

The young stopper has found it extremely difficult to break into Rangers’ first team, or even secure a place on the bench, and thus it was deemed suitable that he be loaned out first to Stirling Albion, then Airdrieonians and then this season to Cappielow.

However, after impressing during his time there he has found his services required again and clearly manager Mark Warburton is happy for the 20 year old to continue gaining experience at a decent level.

The CB said:

“Papers signed, delighted to be staying on loan at Morton until the end of the season. Really enjoying playing and getting experience.”

It is unlikely Gasparotto will ever break into Rangers’ first-team reckoning but he can only do his best at Greenock and see what transpires in the future for him at Ibrox.

  1. I would not right this young player off just yet – he has made the "Team of the Week" for the SPFL on a couple of occasions this season. Still young with plenty of time to develop further.
