Rangers sign Accrington duo

Rangers have today secured Accrington Stanley pair Josh Windass and Matt Crooks after the duo passed Murray Park medicals.

The four year deals agreed with the club will be ratified for the summer, so the midfielders will likely have to wait six months before they join their new club, but there remains the possibility of Rangers stumping up a six-figure sum to secure the players’ services now, rather than waiting till June.

Windass, a creative midfielder and Crooks, a defensive utility man who is capable both at the back and in the middle, are both benefiting from cross-border laws which sees under 23’s only subject to ‘training compensation’, and manager Mark Warburton is only too happy to take advantage of the regulations, which will see two extremely bright young talents join his ranks in Govan.

Whether Rangers do opt to pay the extra now or wait till the summer for minimal cost remains to be seen.

  1. I really hope we can get these two guys in this month. It will give the rest of the team a lift with some more computation for the team. And all so a lot more for hibs to worry about
