New Rangers signing rejects Dutch offer to join Ibrox

Rangers’ imminent new signing, 27-year old Maciej Gostomski, has rejected three significant offers from rivals, including one from Dutch Eredivise outfit Nijmegen, it has emerged.

The giant goalkeeper arrived in Glasgow last night to complete the signing and said:

“I’m delighted to be here. I had options but this is a great opportunity and with my experience I think I can bring something to Rangers. They are a huge club with a great history and I want to be part of that. I know there are good goalkeepers here already but I want to play and fight for a place in the team.”

Gostomski has bags of experience and will provide an excellent piece of competition for current number one Wes Foderingham, and this signing will prevent any complacency on the part of the Englishman, who lacks any serious adversary for the number one slot at present.

Cammy Bell’s future at Ibrox appears completely finished and he is likely to be freed if Rangers cannot find a suitor.
