Warburton confirms Murray Park medical for target

Rangers’ manager Mark Warburton has today confirmed transfer target Harry Forrester is having a medical at Murray Park today.

The 24 year old attacking midfielder, who Warbs knows extremely well from their time at Brentford, cropped up as a link to Ibrox over the past three days and Rangers’ boss has moved swiftly to get a deal done to take the Doncaster Rovers playmaker north of the border.

The creative attacker, who can play more or less anywhere in the last third, is not fully in favour at Doncaster and this is a move which would suit all parties, with Warburton always on the lookout for new talent which adds value to his squad.

He said:

“He’s having a medical today.”

Barring any last-minute breakdown in the deal, Harry Forrester will soon be confirmed Rangers’ first signing of the January transfer window, which starts tomorrow in earnest.

  1. The 24 year old Harry Forrester who MW knows from Brentford, could prove to be another shrewd signing for us. I am surprised that he hasn't done so well at Doncaster, but I trust the manager's opinion on players.

  2. I trust Warbs judgement but do we need any more wingers?I'd much rather see a big nae prisoner type centre half who's also a threat at set pieces.A sane Moshni type would do me.15 corners against Falkirk and never threatened the goal,I like good fitbaw but need to mix it up now and then.

  3. It is worrying that players who can't get a game for Doncaster are considering Rangers quality, when guys like Murdoch, who was excellent last season, gets farmed out. Also watch happened to Tom Walsh? Do we really need another winger. Get the defence sorted and also get hold of a defensive midfielder who can cover when we are attacking.

  4. I'm a Brentford fc fan who has followed Rangers Fc closely since warbs n weir took over. I don't know what to make of this story at all. Forrester has some talent but i was never really a fan because i think he has an attitude problem. He jumped ship from Brentford when we lost out on auto promotion to Doncaster where he spent his time initially warming a bench in a side that could not compete in the championship.Look where doncaster went from there and he still cant get a game. I always felt that forrester believes he was much better than he actually is. Perhaps he has wised up after his career took a nose dive after moving from Brentford to doncaster. I certainly hope so for Rangers as im thrilled by the football they are playing. However i understand its to be a short term contract and not really in a position that Rangers really need to fill, so i dont get it. But i trust warbs weir n mcparland and hope forrester proves to be worthy in the faith shown in him.
