Ex-Fulham youngster trials at Rangers

Rangers have apparently taken on another trialist who reportedly played and scored in last night’s 9-0 demolition of Airdrieonians by the U21s.

19-year old winger Mekhi Leacock-McLeod, (possibly) currently a free agent, is at Murray Park to attempt to win over Mark Warburton and get his career back on track after Wolves reportedly let him go following their capture of him from Fulham.

The young attacker is the latest winger to be linked to Rangers, and is yet another trialist if the claims are true, although he was contracted to Wolves till summer next year, and as such it is unclear if the lad really is a free agent or if a small fee to Wanderers would be necessary to complete the deal should he impress.

A right winger, he is a strong and quick and would surely be first-team squad material and a potential solution to the slightly troublesome position on the right where Martyn Waghorn has played as auxiliary while Nathan Oduwa has flashed hot and cold.

The transfer window is well and truly open and Rangers are desperate to get a slightly ailing squad enhanced in time for the business end of the season.

  1. How many wingers do we need? Rangers need an aggressive centre back and at least one striker who is capable of scoring headers as what would be the point of taking on more wingers? The mark of a good manager is his flexibility and the time for Warburton to demonstrate that is coming up in the next few games. I don't want to hear anymore the boys are angry in the dressing room after a poor performance. I want commitment on the park as lately too many have been hiding behind a short passing game going nowhere. Warburton I hope is going to be a very successful manager for us but he has to prove he is not a one dimensional manager and that he can be adaptable in meeting the challenge of playing against packed defences.

  2. Is he a free transfer to fit with the signing policy?

Did King not say that he wanted players capable of playing in Europe next season brought in during the next two windows?

I suppose the 5 year ban from UEFA for telling porkies on the 2011 UEFA licence application will knock that on the head.

At least no one else will be playing in Europe because the SFA are in deep sh*t for signing off on the application in the full knowledge that the tax liability on the DOS was unpaid.

Probably just another honest admin error, get Sandy Bryson to have a quick look, that should fix it.

How very dare they, 5 year ban, we demand to know who these people are!

  3. Get back into Europe………..don't you know that UEFA are all over the 2011 Euro licence application following information supplied to them by Tims.

Twente got a 3 year ban for omitting some info from their application, in ours we have fraudulently claimed that there was no outstanding tax liability….a barefaced lie, signed off by the SFA who also knew it was a bare faced lie.

Probably 10 year ban for both the club and Scottish football…….that will really get it up our haters.

    In King we trust.
