Celtic to bid for Scott Allan

After months of the Scott Allan
saga, today the story took another twist when Sky Sources reported Celtic have
taken an interest in the playmaker.
Allan, who put in a transfer
request a number of weeks ago, has long been known as a Rangers fan and is
eager to clinch his dream move to Ibrox, but this latest development will
certainly test that resolve.

Celtic do not lack the finances
to bid what Hibs claim they want for the player, but it now looks like Allan
either stays at Easter Road, holds on for the pre-contract to Ibrox in January,
or switches to Parkhead now.

There is little doubt this would
be a petty snipe at Rangers, given Celtic arguably do not need the player, but
it definitely fits into one of those ‘twists’ of the transfer window I
anticipated occurring.

    • Kenny Dalglish?…..Kenny Miller?…..Financial considerations and advancement often outweigh bigotry.

    • Danny mcgrain was a Rangers fan, so was kenny dalglish. The media claimed kenny Miller was a fan when he signed the first time.
      Mo Johnston was a Celtic fan, as was Charlie Miller. Some people look past bigotry and see the bigger picture of financial and footballing advancement. Not against us (Celtic) signing him, but at the same not bothered if we don't. Personally I suspect this is just paper talk to try to spur rangers into making s sensible bid for a player the apparently are desperate to get.

    King not put a penny in and the banker of last resort, Park, has left the building, so no more soft loans from him………..how are we going to repay the previous loans made by him come December when they are due?

    How did King's meeting with Ashley go? All quiet on that front because Ash has no need to speak to him, he gets the merchandising income whether the strips are sold or not.

    What worries me is that Ashley still has security over Murray Park, Edmiston House and Albion Car Park because King doesn't have the cash to repay the loan and whatever slice of the merchandising income we were getting previously is now also lost!

    What if Ashley decides that it's not worth the bother or hassle and the bad publicity his involvement is bringing to SD?

    What's to stop him putting A For Sale sign up at Murray Park tomorrow, and or Edmiston House/Albion Car Park………….?

  23. he is not good enough for celtic, midfield is our strongest area, will be a squad player at best, hope rumours are untrue but as I said in this blog a few months ago, if celtic want him, they will have him.

While I find it difficult to believe that he will fit in to teh Celtic team, if they sign him and then immediately loan him back to Hibs for the season it really would be one almighty kick in teh teeth to Rangers and the Board of Directors and could dent King's credibility after all his talk about investment. It would also sum up the sh*thole that is teh Scottish League these days, where we are quite clearly hated by the majority of SPL sides and their supporters.

  30. There isn't a hope in hell of him going to Celtic. Scott will see out his contract and will play at Ibrox next season. Hibs shafted the guy. He won't forget that. Do they think he will let them dictate where he can play and where he can't? That isn't the reason, he'll knock them back, though.
    He's a Rangers man. People are talking about him following Dalglish's example.But there is one BIG difference here. Dalglish knocked back Celtic, on at least two occasions. He was hoping Rangers would come in for him. As we all know, they never did.
    Scott Allan KNOWS that Rangers want him. He KNOWS they will be back, in January, with a pre-contract, if Hibs don't let him go to Rangers now. Scott will be a Rangers player this season, or the next.

    In fact, after he knocks Celtic back, the spotlight on him will intensify. His determination to be a Rangers player will be so obvious, that the rift that there is, already, at Easter Road, will become a chasm. In that climate, Hibs might, at last, come to their senses and let the player go.

Barcelona have already indicated that Lionel Messi has demanded a transfer to Rangers, and a solid bid in the 60K range, with a mouth-watering 5K weekly wage has been offered.. If Messi plays hardball though, and doesn't appreciate the honour being offered, the backup plan is to sign Neymayer instead.

I believe his agent and family will have great influence and if Stubbs is behaving like this Rangers should be making it clear to Scott official or not he is one of our own and we are waiting.   48. Celtic fans on tv have made it clear they don't want Allan at Celtic and my celtic mates don't fancy him either but I see the player that he can become under w and w and hopefully he will become a gers legend and he certainly has the talent to a Scotland legend too
