How many of these transfer targets will arrive at Ibrox?

With Mark Warburton and David
Weir confirmed as manager and assistant at Ibrox, the linked names joining them
as part of the playing personnel have begun to flow.
Warburton has strongly implied a
massive glut of signings need to be made, with his inferring of around 10 new
players to add to the ‘lean’ squad currently in Govan.
So, without further ado, here are
some of the names linked with Mark Warburton’s Rangers revolution:

Danny Wilson:
This one has been swilling round
the rumour mill for weeks, and today the Sun made a bold claim that the signing
is imminent. Speculation suggests a caveat of such a signing is the former
Ibrox defender’s insistence of the captaincy. He is a free agent.
Scott Allan:
Linked forever, Allan wanted to come
to Rangers last year, but McCoist ignored his pleas and Hibs took advantage.
With the new era under Warburton underway in earnest, the murmur over Allan has
resumed, and the Championship player of the year would be keen on joining his
boyhood heroes. He would set Rangers back at least £500,000 and Celtic are
circling him.
Lewis Macleod:
It has all been said before; and
the script seems written for the former Rangers midfielder to come home.
Warburton swatted away talk of him at his unveiling though.
Alfie Mawson:
Brentford defender was today
linked with a move to Ibrox, but he denied any truth in the story this evening,
as any prospective signing should before it becomes serious.
Toumani Diagouraga:
Another from the Griffin Park school, this French DM would fill a
hole which only Andrew Murdoch currently sits in. Linked with Fulham last
month, the Brentford player of the year last year certainly would be an
eye-catching signing and a major coup.
Andrew Halliday:
The former Rangers youth &
recent Bradford midfielder was released in May, and has reportedly told friends
he wishes to return to Scotland,
leaving the door open if Warburton is interested
It is silly season, and there are
many more names floating around. But one thing is for sure; Rangers are signing players.

  1. If you look at the different youth squads of the Scottish national team, there is hardly a Rangers player to be found. If Rangers want to become regarded as the leading club in the country in the near future, we need to start investing in young, Scottish talent now. We are already years behind. We have the money, the young Scottish talent is out there, and now is our chance – and it's why I was against Warburton's appointment, because I don't think who cares a jot where the players come from. If that's the case, it's a big mistake from Rangers.

  2. I don't believe we'll sign 10 players, I think we'll sign 4-6 and hopefully see a few youth players brought through with maybe 2-3 loan deals. Then regroup in January and perhaps sign a couple if need be. I know a lot of fans expect us to spend a fortune on lots of big buys but that ain't going to happen. Warburton looks for value players in lower leagues that he can get the best out of, so let's back him and his new signings and give then a chance. Try not to judge or put extra pressure on them, they all need the support of the fans.

  3. Halliday, at 23, should be in his prime. But if he can't cut the mustard at mighty Bradford City or Middlesbrough, he's not good enough for Rangers either – and the fact he's homesick and loves Rangers shouldn't change anyone's mind at Ibrox.

  4. What about Stevie may he ain't having a lot of fun at Sheffield Wednesday don't think he would cost that much. Also might not be popular but the boy Cummings from hibs had a great season

  5. This should be the blueprint for Rangers –

  6. maybe mccoist wanted to sign allan and the old fuck ups of a board never let him u twat u every thought of that

  7. Hearts on the verge of signing Gavin Reilly from QoS for a 5-figure sum, so there's another excellent young striker slipping through the net.

  8. I'll go off topic here.
Any idea what happened with the EGM vote ? Weren't the results of it supposed to be announced today ?

  9. I read somewhere else that it is embargoed until today (Tuesday). I also read elsewhere that the institutional investors may have voted with Ashley.

  10. look at the mess ashley and his palls made in a short time,i would not give the fat man a penny but on the other hand i want him out of our club for good and i wont be giving a penny to his piggy bank, i also hope the newcastle fans wake up fast to the rat,,

  11. lets face it if celtic want danny wilson thats where he will go hes always said thats his team so i cant see us beating them if they want him
