Vuckic: “I’ll wait till the end of the season to decide my future”

He has been the standout
attacking performer in 2015 for Rangers, with his creative displays and goals
not to mention defensive clearances producing massive results for Stuart McCall’s
men, and it is clear the Slovenian has become a huge hit at Ibrox.
But can Rangers keep the Newcastle loanee?
The player himself said:

“I want to sit down with Newcastle at the end of the season and see
what is the best option for me.”
He has shown plenty of desire to
remain at Ibrox, but with uncertainty persisting regarding which division Rangers
will be in next season, not to mention his parent club’s troubles, Vuckic has a
big decision to make come the end of the season.
The fee for the Slovenian, should
Rangers’ board elect to try to retain him, would be around £1M, or they can
endeavour to extend the loan, but it is clear Vuckic himself would prefer to be
a first choice for Newcastle.
He said:
“I couldn’t get a chance in the Newcastle first team, so
when Rangers came in, huge club, I was very interested.”
Vuckic clearly sees Scottish
football as a fall-back crutch, and in truth, the country is a backwater of
football. But he is something of a hero right now and a very popular move by
Rangers board would be persuading Newcastle
to let him go, as long, of course, as the player approves.

  1. No matter what happens next week or in the future, it's been a pleasure son. Thank you. We thought the days of having quality such as Vuckic were behind us. It's been refreshing to have a player who can produce that moment of magic and is genuinely giving his all for the cause.

If he goes back to Newcastle, he'll be welcome back at Ibrox anytime.

    • Have followed through the troubles and put up with a lot especially referees the guy has been a ray of sunshine letes hope we keep him when we see off Motherwell.

  2. Best player at Rangers by a million miles! He should be the first player brought in by the new management if this is possible and he is the standard that we should be seeking going forward.

  3. It'll be tough to keep the guy in Scottish football, we'd need to add some serious quality to the squad to persuade him to stay.

Who would you keep to play alongside him? Apart from the youngsters who will come in and out, who could you depend on to play 30+ games next season?

For me: McGregor, Wallace, Murdoch, Law (I suppose), the new Dean Shiels we've found?

    Have I missed anyone?

  4. I agree…it will be interesting to see…whether Law will stay…money seems to be.the x factor, now adays…..as for Vuckic.. cant see him staying..his only goal.is what will you pay me,
hes made it very plain, that he will look at his options, financially..

That means his commitment to Rangers..will be finished, he will go to ANY club…where he has a chance at first team football…and he will prefer English league…cause of the favorable financing,unfortunately..could even be a Septic….next season…Champions League would be a huge bonus for him.

  5. I have watched every Rangers game this season,, McGregor has been the blame for about 70% of our goals conceded. He doesnt have the hight, he is very weak in the air for a centre half,, yet he gets player of the year, strange,,I,m not saying he is a bad player,,just a poor centre half,, And what is McCall playing McCulloch for?,, and did you see Mohsni stand and watch 6 yards away from the hibs lad cummings who had the time to control and shoot,, The very first thing the board has to do is buy 2 big strong, fit feck off centre halfs,,as our defence is dire,, utter dross,, Motherwell game isnt a given at all,, not by a long shot,, just keep mcculloch and mohsni away,, and keep mcgregor as a sweeper,, your only as good as your last game,, Vuckic is good,,,but remember,,we are playing in the first division, he hasnt been tested in the big league yet,, best player this season by far,,but wouldnt rush in with millions to buy,,,Ashley will screw Rangers if we try to buy him,, We cant spend or pay on players like we used to,, so dont expect too much ladies and gentlemen,,

    • I agree and accept most of what you are saying, but I've not missed a game this season either and for me McGregor has been our stand out defender. No way can you put 70% of goals conceded on him. When partnered by big bombscare Zaliukas he's finally been able to build a partnership.

I know the game is all about opinions, so each to their own.

  6. We need a few…..

A keeper – Bell is too wee and dodgy at corners and cross baws.

2 centre halfs. 1 at the least and MCGregor in there at a push.

3 midfielders, 1 hard as nails but can play, 1 wide wi pace and 1 centrally with a bit of creativity and gets beyond the strikers.

    2 strikers,
